Seychelles sees significant surge in UK visitors

Indian Ocean archipelago the Seychelles has reported a steep rise in visitors from the UK so far this year. The popular beach holiday destination has seen a 16% increase in UK travellers in the first six months of 2018 compared to the previous year, with new direct flights to and from London making the islands more accessible.

Air Europa to launch new route to Panama City starting February 2019

Air Europa, the Mallorca-based Spanish carrier and self-declared Latin American specialist has just announced the launch of a new route from Madrid to Panama City, with connections from London Gatwick, among other European airports. With this new flight addition, Air Europa boosts their portfolio to now include 20 Latin American destinations in 13 countries.

Royal St. Lucia Resort and Spa enters TripAdvisor's coveted hall of fame for second time

The Royal St. Lucia Resort and Spa has been named in the coveted TripAdvisor Hall of Fame for the second time in 10 years. The accolade is given to hotels that have won the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence for five years in a row. The resort sits on Reduit Beach in St Lucia and has 94 guest rooms and suites, as well as two restaurants, two bars, a spa, a fitness centre and a water sports centre.

Iberostar's Wave of Change programme will have eliminated over 200 tonnes of plastic waste by the end of 2018

To mark World's Oceans Day, the Iberostar Group released a special communique in which they stated that by the end of 2018 they would have eliminated more than 200 tonnes of plastic waste through the implementation of their Wave of Change programme in Spain. The hotelier now plans to roll out this initiative on a global scale and eradicate single-use plastic from all their properties around the world.

Richard Branson's Necker Island to reopen in Caribbean this month

Richard Branson's exclusive Necker Island in the Caribbean is getting made to make a comeback this month. The private island closed following significant damage from Hurricane Irma last September, but it will reopen to guests with renovated accommodation and facilities. The reopening will coincide with Extreme Tech Challenge, a global start-up competition.
