JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay launches art deco dining at the Pink Pearl mansion

Luxury beach resort JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay on the Vietnamese island of Phu Quoc will introduce a new theatrical art deco dining experience and restaurant the Pink Pearl to its resort this October 2018. The new restaurant will offer fine French food in a Great Gatsby style mansion with a menu crafted by a Michelin-experienced chef.

The recently-opened JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay on Vietnam’s tropical island of Phu Quoc is set to introduce a new theatrical dining experience to the resort in the form of an art deco style mansion, the Pink Pearl, serving fine French cuisine crafted by a chef with an extensive Michelin-starred background.

The new experiential restaurant created by the resort’s designer Bill Bensley aims to offer guests an immersive and whimsical gourmet experience that evokes the glamour and decadence of the roaring 1920s. Bespoke interiors are a bold mix of pinks, sumptuous prints, artefacts, gilt-framed portraits and a grand central chandelier, all crafted specifically for the space.

A visit to the Pink Pearl will begin with a welcome at the door by 1920s flapper girls. Guests will be guided through six styled private dining rooms, while being entertained by pianists, violinists and classical chanteuses, to the opulent main dining room where an opera singer will signal the arrival of supper.

Chef de Cuisine Amine Ouameur Lakhdari brings more than 10 years’ experience working in Michelin-starred restaurants including The Ritz Paris L'Espadon, Apicius and La Truffe Noire. The French menu uses premium local products and a farm-to-table ethos, with signature dishes such as Nha Trang spiny lobster with cherry, Charolaise Beef Pithivier, and Opera Sphere Marou Chocolate.

Pink Pearl also boasts Phu Quoc's best-stocked wine cellar. Inspired by the Great Gatsby, a spiral staircase entrance opens onto monochromatic glazed cabinets containing a vast selection of French wines, alongside New World favourites and a collection of fortified wines. Pink Pearl’s sommelier is on hand with expert recommendations to pair wines with Chef Amine's dishes.

Set beside Bai Khem beach, JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay is the flagship resort of JW Marriott Hotels and Resorts in Vietnam. It offers a selection of 234 rooms, suites, and villas, five restaurants and contemporary bars, including Tempus Fugit, French & Co, Red Rum, Pink Pearl and the Department of Chemistry bar.
