Air Europa to launch new route to Panama City starting February 2019

Air Europa, the Mallorca-based Spanish carrier and self-declared Latin American specialist has just announced the launch of a new route from Madrid to Panama City, with connections from London Gatwick, among other European airports. With this new flight addition, Air Europa boosts their portfolio to now include 20 Latin American destinations in 13 countries.

Air Europa to launch new route to Panama City starting February 2019

Starting 25th February, Air Europa will start flying direct to Panama City's Tocumen International Airport (PTY) from their hub at Madrid's Barajas International Airport (MAD), giving UK passengers the opportunity to connect from London Gatwick, which the company services twice daily from Madrid.

The new Panama flights will be operated using a state-of-the-art Boeing 787 Dreamliner, the industry's greenest, most comfortable and most technologically-advanced commercial model as of yet.

Speaking about the upcoming launch and latest route addition, Colin Stewart, Air Europa's Director for the United Kingdom said on an official statement:

"Already well known as the Latin America specialist airline, Panama, after Honduras, is Air Europa's second destination in Central America. Panama City is an important city of commerce as well as tourism and we will cater for both business and leisure travellers who will have the pleasure of experiencing travel on the environmentally-friendly Dreamliner aircraft with its superior level of passenger comfort and on-board services."

The new five-weekly route (Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday) will depart from Madrid at 15:05 and arrive in Panama City at 19:40 on the same day. The return leg of the flight from Panama City to Madrid will depart at 21:40 and arrive in Madrid at 13:15 the following day. British passengers can connect to the route from London Gatwick via Air Europa's daily connecting flights to Madrid, departing London at 10:10 and landing in Madrid at 13:30, which gives holidaymakers plenty of time to catch the connecting flight to Panama City.

Air Europa is Spain's third largest air carrier and part of the Globalia Group, a travel and tourism company that includes the Be Live hotel brand. With a fleet size of 46 aircraft, the airline is the brainchild of magnate Juan Jose Hidalgo, its chairman and CEO, and a member of SkyTeam Alliance.

Air Europa promotes itself as a leading European carrier and Latin America specialist with a portfolio of 20 destinations in 13 countries (and counting). Globally, Air Europa covers over 130 destinations worldwide and has established codeshare agreements with other airlines like Aerolineas Argentinas, AeroMexico, Air France, Etihad Airways, Delta Airlines, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Avianca Brazil and Aeroflot, to name a few.
