Delta Airlines and Virgin Atlantic to give Londoners taste of the US through craft beers

In an attempt to bring more attention to the hundreds of US destinations to be discovered, aviation giants Delta Airlines and Virgin Atlantic have partnered up in a unique promotion. The joint venture will open a pop-up pub in Holborn, London featuring 230 American craft beers. This opportunity will allow visitors to get a taste of the US and hopefully inspire them to book a trip.

Delta Airlines and Virgin Atlantic to give Londoners taste of the US through craft beers

After years of fruitful partnerships, Virgin Atlantic and Delta Airlines have decided to join forces again in a quirky project. Britain’s second largest carrier and the major US airline will be collaborating together in a promotion set to excite and encourage thousands of Britons to get to know about hundreds of amazing US destinations. The airlines will attempt to draw travellers’ attention through a common passion: the love of a good beer.

The joint venture will open a pop-up pub in London from 10th to 19th August, in the area of Holborn. The pub will be a takeover of an iconic establishment, The Old Crown, and will feature a total of 230 US craft beers. Visitors will not only be able to savour the hand-made brews but also take part in American-themed quiz nights and also get the chance to win flights in competitions and games.

Ultimately, the initiative seeks to give Londoners a taste of the more than 200 destinations that they can fly to in the US. The pop-up pub experience has been created by US-based agency Figliulo & Partners and will also feature a beer wall installation.

As she explained the motivation behind the promotion, Claire Cronin, senior vice-president for marketing at Virgin Atlantic, said: "What better way to bring people together than over a beer, or better still: 230 beers. The Joint Venture will bring a taste of the US to London and through the ever-popular US craft beer scene, show the variety of destinations that UK travellers can fly to with Virgin Atlantic and Delta Air Lines."

Both air companies have been collaborating in services to the US for years. Delta Airlines boasts partnerships with several other international carriers. The major US airline, along with its subsidiaries and regional affiliates, operates over 5,400 flights daily and serves an extensive domestic and international network that includes 319 destinations in 54 countries on six continents, as of October 2016. Delta is one of the four founding members of the SkyTeam airline alliance, and operates joint ventures with AeroMexico, Air France-KLM, Alitalia, Korean Air, Virgin Atlantic, Virgin Australia, and WestJet.
