Since the project to improve the quality of interiors, upgrade the facilities and renovate certain areas of the hotel began in 2017, it seems Al Bustan Palace, a Ritz-Carlton Hotel is almost ready to open its doors to the public once more.

The lavish Muscat hotel has notified on its website that it will be in operation in October of this year and added that the hotel’s spa remains open.

In addition to improving the hotel’s interior design and repairing certain structures, the extended renovation Al Bustan Palace has undergone was aimed at spotlighting the hotel's role as a symbol Omani culture and hospitality.

For the purpose of carrying out and overseeing this project, hotel owners hired the services of creative design firm Wimberly Allison Tong & Goo (WATG) and its interior design studio, Wimberly Interiors. WATG is one of the world’s leading integrated design firms and ranked as second in the world among hotel architectural firms. WATG's interior design firm, Wimberly Interiors, was ranked 11th by Interior Design Magazine in their 2015 Hospitality Giants survey.

At present, the design company has been responsible for works that include a complete refreshment of the 250 guest rooms and 50 suites, as well as the resort's main guest arrival porte-cochere, meetings and events spaces, majestic lobby lounge, grand ballroom and all-day dining restaurant. Some of these spaces have been remodelled for the first time in ten years, or since the hotel’s grand opening in 1985 in the case of the main arrival porte-cochere.

Facilities such as the recreation centre and fitness were also refreshed and upgraded with state-of-the-art equipment. According to an official statement from the hotel’s management, the design takes inspiration from the traditional artisans of Oman, who continue to perpetuate the country's living heritage and culture through the practice of their craft.

Al Bustan Palace is a Ritz-Carlton Hotel. This prestigious company currently operates 74 hotels in the Americas, Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and the Caribbean. More than 30 hotel and residential projects are under development around the globe with future openings which include The Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong, an ultra-lavish property that will open as the highest hotel in the world.
