Three hotels in Turks and Caicos due to reopen this month following Hurricane Irma

Following the aftermath of the devastating Hurricane Irma in the Caribbean last week, the Hartling Group Resorts has announced that three of its resorts will reopen on Turks and Caicos at the end of the month. The resorts suffered no major damage but they are currently closed to repair damages caused by flood water and clear the debris from the landscapes gardens.

Three hotels in Turks and Caicos due to reopen this month following Hurricane Irma

The Caribbean is starting to repair the extensive damage caused by Hurricane Irma last week which ripped through several of the region’s island nations including Puerto Rico, Cuba, Barbuda and Antigua and the Bahamas. Some of the islands that escaped the full force of the storm are preparing to reopen hotels and resort this month.

Turks and Caicos was badly affected by the hurricane, but the island of Providenciales was once of the less damaged islands. Hartling Group Resorts operates three islands in the island nation, and the group is planning to reopen these properties by the end of the month.

The Shore Club, The Sands and The Palms hotels sustained “no major structural damages”, but they are currently closed to carry out the necessary repairs caused by water and landscaping damage. Guests who were due to stay at the resort this month have been contacted by staff to reschedule their stays.

The Sands at Grace Bay and The Palms hotels will reopen on 23rd September, and The Shore Club will reopen to guests on 30th September. The island did not completely escape the wrath of Hurricane Irma, and the Hartling Group has announced that it will be helping staff and local community members who lost their homes and belongings during the category 5 storm.
