Grace Hotels has officially opened a new hotel in Panama City, located on the new ‘Twist Tower’ building in the Obarrio District.
The new Grace Panama becomes the seventh of the group’s hotels to open in Panama City with 60 guestrooms and suites spread across the 13th to 17th floors, boasting views of the city’s jagged skyline.
"We are proud to open the doors of our seventh Grace hotel in this thriving, dynamic city full of promise and look forward to introducing the Grace philosophy to a new audience."
The above were the sentiments of Marco Novella, the Chief Operating Officer of Grace Hotels.
Facilities at the boutique hotel include a lap pool on the 12th floor; a stylish bar with cocktails and international beers; and two gourmet restaurants, ‘54 East’ that serves Mediterranean cuisine, and ‘Meet@12’, a gourmet café and delicatessen that offers salads and snacks on a spacious terrace by the hotel’s 12th-floor pool where guests can enjoy beautiful views across the city.
The Obarrio neighbourhood is a modern, trendy and quiet residential area in Panama City, with plenty of places to shop and dine, high end stores and chic cafes. There are beautiful green spaces too and its location is simply ideal for sightseeing as it sits right at the heart of the city.
Panama City is the capital of the country Panama in Central America and it is considered to be one of the most cosmopolitan cities in the region. The city boasts a skyline similar to Dubai with tall glass and steel towers, but the historic district of Casco Viejo is a blend of Old Havana and the French Quarter in New Orleans, and is popular with holidaymakers due to its charming, winding cobbled streets and historic buildings.
The vibrant country is home to the famous Panama Canal which celebrates its 100th anniversary this year.
The Panama Canal is 77 kilometres long and connects the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean. The locks at each end of the canal lift the ships to the Lake Gatun, an artificial lake that was created to reduce the amount of excavation work required for the canal. The lake acts a reservoir of water for the operation of the locks and it carries ships for 33 kilometres along their journey of the canal.
