On this tour you cruise through river Brahmaputra. Brahmaputra cruises feature visits and attractions such as wildlife viewing (both by jeep and on elephant back), village walks, visits to tea gardens, exploring country towns in cycle rickshaws, barbecues on deserted river islands, dance performances, and visits to craft workshops


• Kolkata - Jain Temple, Kali Temple, Howrah Bridge, Dalhousie Square, Fort Williams and thew Zoological gardens
• Dibrugarh - Cruise down DikHou Mukh, excursion to Sibsagar, cruise down to Majuli Island
• Mujuli Island - Unique Hindu Monasteries, including the Auniati and Kamalabari Monasteries
• Kaziranga National Park - Elephant ride and safari trekking
• Tezpur - Da Parbatia Temple and Singr Hill

Day 1 - Arrival in Kolkata

Upon arrival in Kolkata, you will be met & assisted by our representative & will be transferred to your hotel. Spend the rest of your day is at leisure
The city of Calcutta, now called Kolkata, was established by the British in 1690 and was the capital of British India until 1911. It is the proud intellectual capital of India, with a rich contemporary cultural life. The city retains some of India's most striking colonial buildings, and is also home to the country's first underground railway
Today spend your day relaxing at the hotel

Day 2 - Kolkata

Today morning after breakfast, take a tour of the city to visit the Jain temple richly decorated with mirrors and Venetian glass mosaics, the Kali temple, and the white marble Victoria Memorial designed in Italian Renaissance-Mughal style.
Drive past the Howrah Bridge, one of the largest cantilever bridges in the world, the Dalhousie Square, Fort Williams, the secretariat building and the Old Court House Street. Also visit the 16 hectare Zoological gardens
Spend the evening at leisure.

Day 3 - Kolkata to Dibrugarh

Today morning on time, you will be assisted & transferred in your private car to connect flight to Dibrugarh.
Arrive Dibrugarh, a typical colonial town and major American base in WWII, then drive 2 ½ hrs to Dikhou Mukh.
Embark on your cruise ship and sail downstream a short distance before putting down anchor for the night.
Enjoy dinner on board.

Day 4 - Cruising

Excursion by road to Sibsagar, the one-time capital of the Ahom kings of Assam.
See temples with stupa-like profiles, and palaces of distinctive form.
Return to the ship and cruise for 3 hours down river to Majuli Island, supposedly the world's largest river island.

Day 5 - Cruising

Majuli Island possesses unique hindu monasteries famous for their dance drama performances - the whole island is now shortlisted for future UNESCO World Heritage status.
You will visit Auniati monastery with an eclectic museum and in the afternoon will attend a dance performance at Kamalabari monastery.
Returning to the ship we cruise downstream for an hour or two.

Day 6 - Cruising

A day spent mostly on the river, though we shall stop and make a short visit to a tribal village by the river.
By afternoon, Kaziranga National Park will be on our left - wild elephants are sometimes visible from the boat, and once, memorably, a tiger.

Day 7 - Cruising

This morning you will arrive at the little temple town of Vishnath, with a fine Ahom-period temple.
Make a first safari through Kaziranga National Park, taking a jeep ride through its Western Range, with good woodland as well as grassland and wetlands which can be viewed from look-out towers.

Day 8 - Cruising

Disembark pre-dawn and drive to Kaziranga's Central Range for an early morning elephant ride, the best way to get really close to the rhino.
Kaziranga is a World Heritage site, and with a population of over 1000 rhinoceros is the best place in the world to see these beasts. There are also good populations of tiger, wild elephant, sambar, swamp deer, hog deer, wild pig and many other species.
After breakfast, walk through terraced tea gardens and visit a village of the Mising tribe.
In the afternoon drive to Kaziranga's little-visited Eastern Range or the newly-opened Burapahar Range for a further jeep safari before returning to the boat.

Day 9 - Cruising

Cruise downstream under the seemingly endless new bridge to dock at Tezpur
After lunch on board, we visit the remains of the the 6th century Da Parbatia temple.
Board cycle rickshaws to take us through the bazaars to Cole Park with its collection of medieval stone carving.
Re-boarding our ship we cruise down to moor for the night near the isolated Singri Hill.

Day 10 - Cruising

The day is spent on the river, traversing a lunar landscape of sand islands then closing on the range of hills beyond which lies Guwahati.
We should stop for the night not far from Ganesh Pahar.

Day 11 - Cruising

Reaching Guwahati at midday, climb up to the Aswaklanta temple on the hill.
Drive to temple ruins of Madan Kamdev.
Returning to the ship we cruise down to Sualkuchi either this evening or the following morning.

Day 12 - Cruising

Walk through Sualkuchi to visit weaving workshops
We then sail up to dock close to the great Saraighat Bridge and take a tour of Guwahati, driving up Nilachal Hill to the Kamakhya temple.

Day 13 - Disembark and fly from Guwahati to Kolkata

Today morning after breakfast, disembark and you will be transferred to Guwahati airport to connect flight to Kolkata.
Upon arrival in Kolkata, you will be assisted & transferred to your hotel.
Spend the rest of the evening at leisure.
Overnight at the hotel.

Day 14 - Depart Kolkata

Today morning after breakfast, you will be assisted & transferred in your private car to connect flight back home.
