This great trip will take you all around the important parts of Borneo, opening your eyes to sights like no other. Kinabalu, you’ll receive a crash course on the impressive biodiversity that inhabits the locality. You will also be able to test your true height tolerance when you head to Poring to bask along the treetop canopy walkways – 41 metres above the forest floor. A trip the following day to Sandakan will have you up front and personal with man’s closest relatives, the Orangutans! At Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre you’ll have the opportunity to witness the magical feeding of an Orangutan at the feeding platform. After all of this you’ll take a boat cruise trip to the Lower Kinabatangan River Sanctuary where you can observe the spectacular scenery of the Mangrove Forest. Your next day will involve a trip to Sukau where you can mingle amongst the villagers and perhaps even search for the primates, birds and other wildlife that inhabit the area. From here you continue through the streets of Kota Kinabalu to the waterfront and begin your culinary adventure. There are three main markets that are set up along the waterfront permanently (a Pilipino handicraft market, a fruit market and a wet market with all sorts of weird and wonderful fresh fish).
