Indian Ocean archipelago the Seychelles has reported a steep rise in visitors from the UK so far this year. The popular beach holiday destination has seen a 16% increase in UK travellers in the first six months of 2018 compared to the previous year, with new direct flights to and from London making the islands more accessible.

Two luxury Seychelles resorts awarded Seychelles sustainable tourism label certificates

The Avani Seychelles Barbarons Resort & Spa and The H Resort Vallon Beach Seychelles have been awarded a prestigious eco award from the country's Tourism Department. Both luxury resorts received the Seychelles Sustainable Tourism Label certificated for their eco-friendly efforts and commitment to sustainable tourism. Just 17 hotels on the island have received the certification.

Banyan Tree Seychelles unveils new villas and dining experiences

The Banyan Tree Seychelles has revealed details of its upgraded villas and new dining experiences. The luxury resort sits in Intendance Bay on the island of Mahe in the Seychelles, and it has Creole-style villas in a beach, pool or oceanfront setting. New dining outlets will include a Beatles-inspired option and a new partnership with Takamaka Rum.

Four Seasons Resort Seychelles at Desroches opens in the Seychelles

Four Seasons Resort Seychelles at Desroches has officially opened to guests. The luxury island resort has 71 beach bungalows, suites, villas, and residences, all boasting private pools and direct access to the beach. Located 35 minutes via seaplane from the main island of Mahe, the resort boasts two restaurants, a spa, a yoga pavilion, a fitness centre, a teen and kids’ clubs, and a water sports centre.

British Airways to launch direct flights to Seychelles

An agreement has been signed between the Seychelles Tourism Board and British Airways to launch new direct flights to the Seychelles next year. The two-year agreement will see the launch of twice-weekly non-stop flights to the Indian ocean nation from March 2018. The two companies will launch new marketing initiatives and promotional activities to highlight the idyllic country.

Four Seasons Resort Seychelles at Desroches Island launches promotion ahead of opening

Four Seasons Resort Seychelles at Desroches Island will open to the public in spring 2018, and reservations are now open for stays starting from March. The hotel is launching a special Island Debut package to welcome its first holidaymakers with a 30 per cent discount on rooms and packages for bookings made before December, 2017. The resort sits in the Amirante Islands, a 35-minute flight from Male.

Banyan Tree Seychelles resort appoints new General Manager

Banyan Tree Hotels and Resorts has announced the appointment of Mr Fabrice Collot as the new General manager of the Banyan Tree Seychelles. Mr Collot joined the hotel group in 2007, and brings more than 27 years of experience in senior management positions to the new role. The French native will be responsible for overseeing the operations, administration and service standards at the hotel.

The Six Senses Zil Pasyon resort in the Seychelles has officially opened its Six Senses Spa to guests. Surrounded by natural beauty and overlooking the lush jungle and turquoise sea, the spa facility was designed by Six Senses Architecture and Richard Hywel Evans from Studio RHE in London, and was constructed using natural materials like rock and wood.
