The Six Senses brand has announced that it will make its debut in the Caribbean, after revealing plans to build a new hotel in St Kitts and Nevis. The brand will open the hotel in 2021.

Located on the former site of a sugar plantation in La Vallee on the northwester coast of St Kitts, ground is expected to break for the development later this year. The luxury resort will have 70 lavish villas that will feature private plunge pools. They will also be made using sustainable and repurposed materials.

Guests will be able to adjust the air conditioning and energy efficient lighting of their villas by using an in-room iPad. There will also be Naturalmat mattresses on the beds to aid a comfortable night’s sleep.

Holidaymakers will arrive to their villa at the Six Senses St Kitts resort via electric buggy. The resort’s facilities will include dining outlets with fresh Caribbean cuisine, including fresh seafood, fruit, vegetables and spices from the resort’s garden, and fresh produce from local growers. There will also be the Rum Shack bar, a swim-up bar at the main swimming pool, the Grow With Six Senses teen centre and kids' club, the Six Senses Spa with a yoga pavilion and fitness centre, and an on-site dive centre.

The property will be constructed by Range Developments. The property group built the Park Hyatt St. Kitts, which opened in November 2017, and it will also develop the Cabrits Resort Kempinski in Dominica and the Ritz-Carlton St Lucia.

Dr. the Honourable Timothy Harris, the Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis, commented:

“We are delighted that Range Developments is bringing another project and the unique brand of Six Senses to the country.”

“Range Developments is bringing investment, jobs and expertise to the citizens and residents of St. Kitts and Nevis. It is an amazing development for our small country to be the beneficiary of another luxury hotel brand so soon after the official grand opening of the world-renowned Park Hyatt on St. Kitts.”

Located 30 minutes from the capital of Basseterre and the international airport, the resort is situated a short distance from Sandy Point Town, which is the entrance to Brimstone Hill, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Tourists can visit attractions including St Kitts National Museum, Independence Square, Basseterre Cathedral, and Mount Liamuiga.
