Four Seasons Resort Langkawi in Malaysia appoints Melissa Tang as new Resort Manager

Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts has appointed a new Resort Manager at the Four Seasons Resort Langkawi in Malaysia. Melissa Tang has taken over the role at the luxury resort, after spending the last four years at Four Seasons Hotel Guangzhou in two management roles. Tang brings more than 20 years of hospitality experience and knowledge to the new role.

A new Resort Manager has been appointed at the Four Seasons Resort Langkawi in Malaysia. Melissa Tang has taken over the role, and will bring more than 20 years of experience to the new role.

Tang has spent the last four years working at the 3-44 room Four Seasons Hotel Guangzhou where she had management roles including the Director of Human Resources and the Director of Rooms through the hotel group’s worldwide Women Operations Leaders programme. In her new role at the Malaysia hotel, she will help to create and implement strategies that will continue to deliver an excellent product and service for guests.

During her two decades in the hospitality industry, Tang has worked in numerous roles in destinations all over the world. She began her career working at Victory river cruises in 1994, before moving to the Hotel Nikko Dalian to work as the Director of Human Resources. Tang then moved to Shangri-La Hotel in Guangzhou and Zhongshan, before joining the team at Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts.

The Four Seasons Resort Langkawi is one of the most luxurious hotels in Malaysia. Located in the state of Kedah, an archipelago of 104 islands in the Andaman Sea, the hotel sits on the island of Langkawi and boasts a one-mile stretch of sandy beach.

The resort has 91 upscale villas and pavilions that are surrounded by lush landscapes and have private terraces and private plunge pools. In-room amenities include air conditioning, minibars, wireless internet, espresso machines, tea-making facilities, outdoor rain showers, and marble bathrooms.

Facilities at the upscale beachfront resort include two adults-only and family swimming pools, a Kids’ Club, a modern fitness centre, and floodlit tennis courts. Guests can unwind at the The Geo Spa with its range of Earth, Water, Light and Air Treatments, yoga sessions, and beauty treatments. The hotel’s dining venues are plentiful and include the beachside Kelapa Grill with seafood dishes, pizzas, and steaks; the oceanfront Serai with its Mediterranean menu; and Ikhan-Ikhan which is housed in the style of a traditional Malaysian home and has a terrace, beachside pavilion, cocktail bar, and private dining room.

Malaysia is a South-East Asian country that is home magnificent beautiful beaches, jungles and rainforests. The country’s blend of cultures has been influenced by the Malay, Chinese, Indians and Europeans over the centuries. Holidaymakers can sunbathe on white sand beaches, hike up the slopes of Mount Kinabalu, take a ride in the Langkawi Cable car across Langkawi Island, or trek through the lush Taman Negara national park on the Malaya Peninsula.
