Karisma Hotels & Resorts has revealed that it will break ground for the construction of three of its new hotels in Jamaica in January, 2017. The hotels are part of the US$900 million tourism development in Llandovery, St Ann that will have ten hotels in total.

According to Lubo Krstajic, the Chief of Sales and Marketing for Karisma Hotels & Resorts, the construction permits for the three hotels have been submitted for approval, and the process is expected to be completed by November, 2016 giving the company enough time to start building in January next year.

Llandovery by Karisma Hotels & Resorts, nicknamed the "Sugar Cane Project", will be located on 228 acres of land in St Ann on the north coast of Jamaica and it will open ten hotels with 5,000 guest rooms over the next decade. The construction of the first three hotels will provide 1,800 guest rooms in total.

The development will have a dolphin experience, numerous water sports, more than a mile of pristine white sandy beach, and nature experiences with horse trails. The multi-million project is expected to provide approximately 8,000 direct jobs that will help boost the island’s economy, and it will be the largest single investment in the tourism industry in Jamaica.

The Llandovery project comes after the success of Karisma’s first hotel in the Caribbean, the Sensatori Jamaica hotel in Negril, which opened in late 2014. The 140-room hotel sits on the famous Seven Mile Beach in Negril, and has an adults-only section with Honeymoon Suites, a family area with accommodation, and the Karisma Gourmet Inclusive Experience concept which can be enjoyed at the hotel’s collection of exquisite oceanfront restaurants and bars.

Karisma Hotels & Resorts is a hotel group that operates an extensive collection of luxury hotels all over Cancun and the Riviera Maya in Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Colombia, Croatia and Serbia. The company’s brands include adults-only El Dorado Spa Resorts & Hotels; the family-friendly Azul Hotels and Generations Resorts; and the sophisticated Allure Hotels, Karisma Hotels Adriatic, and Hidden Beach Au Naturel Resort. Last week, Karisma Hotels and Resorts opened a new Nickelodeon-themed hotel in Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic in a joint venture with Viacom International Media Networks.

Located on the north coast of the island, St Ann is Jamaica’s largest parish. The region has become a popular destination for holidaymakers, and attractions include Dunn’s River Falls, Green Grotto Caves, the Bob Marley Mausoleum, the Enchanted Gardens and the famous James Bond Beach.
