The Minor Hotel group will be expanding its collection of luxury hotels in North Africa with the addition of two new Anantara properties that are being developed by Qatari Diar.

The two new resorts will be located in the city of Tozeur in Tunisia, and Tangier in northern Morocco.

Anantara Tozeur Resort will have 93 guest rooms and villas, including pool villas, and it will offer upscale facilities such as an Anantara Spa, gourmet restaurants, stylish lounges and bars, kids and teen clubs, and a health club. This new luxury resort will be located on the popular tourist trail which is home to the original Star Wars set in Tunisia.

Anantara Al Houara Tangier Resort is under development in northern Morocco along a 2.5 km stretch of beachfront.

The luxury beachfront resort is part of the Al Houara project in Tangier which will include an 18-hole golf course with golf club and residential units. The hotel will have 230 guest rooms and suites, and a selection of facilities including a wellness centre, a large Anantara Spa, restaurants and bars, a fitness centre, and clubs for kids and teens.

Dillip Rajakarier, the Chief Executive Officer of the Minor Hotel Group, explained in interview with travel media:

"We are excited to announce these two new Anantara resorts in North Africa in partnership with Qatari Diar.

"Our Anantara brand is now well established in the Middle East, with six properties in the UAE and our first resort in Qatar opened earlier this year, and we are keen to add North Africa to our footprint, where these two new resorts will help further develop luxury tourism within these destinations."

He also added:

"We are looking forward to a strong alliance with Qatari Diar going forward, with scope to explore additional opportunities to expand our portfolio in the wider MENA region."

Morocco is a country in North Africa located south of Spain with a coastline spreading across both the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. Tourists can explore the medieval city of Fez; the movie-famous city of Casablanca that is home to Morocco's largest mosque, The King Hassan II; and the traditional souks, spice markets and historical ruins in Marrakech.
