Marriott International expands its Autograph Collection with new boutique hotel in Panama

Marriott International is set to launch its latest Autograph Collection hotel, the Sortis Hotel Spa & Casino in Panama City. This boutique hotel in Panama offers its guests the luxury holiday experience that guests have come to expect from the Autograph Collection. Some of the features of the new Sortis hotel include its own shopping area, extensive dining options as well as an onsite luxury spa and casino.

Marriott International has announced the latest addition to its Autograph Collection Hotels with the the new Sortis Hotel Spa & Casino in Panama City. The 391-room hotel is the second Autograph Collection Hotel to be launched in Central America with Costa Rica’s Hotel Punta Islita having been the first to open in the region.

On the decision to expand its brand of luxury hotels in Panama, Kevin Schwab, Marriott International’s Area Vice President for Mexico stated,

"Panama remains one of the most vibrant countries for new development in all of Latin America We are thrilled to reveal our first addition to Autograph Collection Hotels in Central America. This beautiful hotel brings the highest levels of accommodations and service to Panama and is a great addition to the Collection's growing global portfolio."

As many travellers would expect, the new stunning hotel property provides some of the best boutique experiences in Panama including its very own private shopping area with as many as 30 stores as well as 10 dining options ranging from fine dining to a relaxed sports bar. Additionally, guests can enjoy a pampering session at the on site luxury spa, or instead relax by the resort like pool and of course with the hotel home to one of Panama’s most modern Casinos with its own exclusive VIP Players lounge, guests need not venture far for their evening entertainment.

The rooms at the Sortis Hotel Spa & Casino live up to the high standards set by the hotel itself with each room featuring luxury bedding, aromatherapy amenities, Nespresso coffee machines and a 46 inch Full HD LED Samsung TV.

This year marks the Autograph Collection’s five year anniversary, a milestone that indicates how quickly the brand has grown over these few years with over 80 properties across the globe.

Panama, best known for its Canal, is now one of Central America’s up and coming holiday destinations. Heavy investment from the local government investment aimed at improving the country’s infrastructure coupled with increased investment from hotel firms like Marriott International has boosted interest in Panama in recent years. The Telegraph recently dubbed Panama as the “next Riviera Maya” listing the Central American country among the top 20 destinations to invest in property.
