The Jumeirah Group has appointed a brand new General Manager at the iconic Burj Al Arab Jumeirah as it celebrates its 15th anniversary this year.
The world's most luxurious hotel in Dubai will now be looked after by Anthony McHale whose career in the luxury hospitality industry spans 35 years.
McHale joined the Jumeirah Group in January this year after a five-year position as the General Manager of the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park in London. He has worked for high end hotel including Orient Express Hotels, Keswick Hall Club and Estate in Charlottesville Virginia, the Windsor Court Hotel in New Orleans, Louisiana, and Hotel Bel Air in Los Angeles.
Nicholas Clayton, the Chief Executive of Group Operations at Jumeirah Group, explained:
"We are delighted that Tony is joining Burj Al Arab Jumeirah as it celebrates its fifteenth year of operation.
"Our guests expect the very highest level of luxury hospitality and Tony has both the experience and the profile that promises to guide our hotel and its 1,500 colleagues to continued success in the market place."
The luxury hotel's celebrations include the addition of four new Bespoke Rolls-Royce Phantom Series II cars to its current fleet. Guests can enjoy plush leather seats, extended luggage storage space, a custom cooler, and storage in the rear doors.
Since its opening in 1999, the Burj Al Arab Jumeirah has won nearly 100 awards, including the accolade of World's Leading Luxury Hotel by the World Travel Awards in 2014, and it attracts guests from all over the world including A-list stars and royalty.
Gerald Lawless, the President of the Jumeirah Group, commented:
"I am delighted that we are celebrating the 15th Anniversary of Burj Al Arab. Today when one looks at landmark buildings around the world, what comes to mind will be the Sydney Opera House, the Eiffel Tower, the Taj Mahal and, of course, Burj Al Arab symbolising the great city of Dubai, and the objectives and ambitions of His Highness."
Located on an artificial island 280 metres from Jumeirah Beach in Dubai, the Burj Al Arab has an iconic structure which resembles the sail of an Arabian dhow and the building soars 321 metres into the sky.
The luxury beachfront hotel boasts all-suite accommodation with state-of-the-art technology where guests can change the lighting, curtains and air conditioning with the touch of a button, and amenities including 42-inch plasma screen TVs with DVD and cable channels; a separate living area and dining area; walk-in showers and Jacuzzi baths with a full range of men and ladies Hermes products; and dedicated 24-hour butler service.
Unique features and facilities at the hotel include three aquariums, several gourmet restaurants, the private Majlis Al Bahar beach, the Assawan Spa and Health Club; and the Sky View Bar that boasts spectacular views of the sparkling ocean and bustling city below.
