Baha Mar Resort in the Bahamas to host Caribbean's first Tournament Players Club Golf Course

The Caribbean’s largest resort development, Baha Mar, will boast a Tournament Players Club (TPC) golf course when it opens to the public next year.

The luxury mega resort in the Bahamas will host the first TPC golf course in the Caribbean and it will be designed by Jack Nicklaus.
Tournament Players Clubs are courses that are operated by the Professional Golf Association (PGA) Tour, and players at the Baha resort will be able to enjoy stunning views of the turquoise ocean and tropical verdant surroundings during their golf holidays.

The course's salt-tolerant turf grass will be irrigated with treated water from the luxury resort and officials have already sought certification from the Audubon International Classic Program in recognition of its responsible management of land, water, wildlife, and natural resources on the grounds of the 18-hole golf course.

The Baha Mar resort complex is scheduled to open its doors to tourists in spring 2015 and it will feature six luxury beachfront resorts, the largest casino in the Caribbean, shopping centres, an entertainment centre, convention and meeting space, a 20-acre Eco Water Park with pool experience, several gourmet restaurants, and lavish spas.

Located on 1,000 acres on New Providence Island in The Bahamas, the enormous $3.4 billion resort is partly owned by Harrah's Entertainment, managed by Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide, and it will provide luxury holidays for leisure and business travellers from all over the globe.

The resort complex is set to be the largest single-phase resort in the Caribbean’s history and it will feature a collection of luxury Bahamas hotels including brands such as Rosewood Hotels & Resorts, Morgans Hotel Group, Hyatt Hotels & Resorts, and a world-class Casino Hotel that will offer 2,250 rooms.

The island’s Cable Beach has been transformed into the mile-long West Bay Street with six acres of picturesque natural wetlands, lakes and parks, walking trails, gazebos, and boardwalks.
