Negotiations between Couples Resorts and Casuarina Beach Club Limited over the much coveted Almond Casuarina Beach Resort property in Barbados has come to a close with Couples Resorts announcing that it will take over the lease as of the 10th February 2013. Once fully rebranded as the new Couples Barbados, the hotel will become the first resort to offer adults only holidays in Barbados. With Barbados holidays such a popular choice among those planning honeymoons, romantic getaways for two or simply those travelers craving a bit of Caribbean sun, sea and sand there is little wonder why Couples Resorts are so keen on their latest acquisition.
The announcement was made by the CEO of Couples Resorts Glenn Lawrence, who stated at the time, “we are thrilled to launch our first-ever venture in Barbados and believe this property located on the vibrant South Coast to be the perfect addition to the Couples Resorts family of boutique-style hotels… We look forward to introducing this resort to a new Couples audience and we are proud to provide our loyal Couples guests with another destination for them to call ‘home’”.
Mr Lawrence also took the opportunity to outline the transition process for the resort as his firm grooms the property to become one of the top all inclusive Barbados hotels and resorts for couples. During the period 10th February through 31st May 2013, under Couples Resorts management, the property will operate as the Casuarina Beach Resort. During this time there will be no changes to the facilities and amenities currently on offer however, the hotel will undergo a US $3 million upgrade programme aimed at bringing the resort up to the Couples Resort’s high standards. Planned upgrades will include:
• A refresh of the decor
• New pool and Jacuzzi
• New Spa and Salon
• New Gym complete with the latest equipment and a Yoga gazebo
• New piano bar/lounge
As of 1st June 2013 the resort will officially be rebranded as Couples Barbados and will offer guests a truly unforgettable all inclusive Barbados holiday experience for two with unparalleled service. Guests will be treated to free transfers to and from the Grantley Adams International Airport, free weddings/ vow renewals, free access to the Barbados Golf Club, a free glass bottom boat ride and a host of other complimentary services.
