Gran Melia Cancun to become new all-inclusive Paradisus Cancun Resort
The renowned hotel chain, Melia Hotels International, recently announced that Gran Melia Cancun will be transformed into an all-inclusive Paradisus Resort. This major change responds to many clients' requests and makes Cancun holidays much more appealing.
The Gran Melia Cancun, property of the well-known Spanish hotel chain, Melia Hotels International, will be transformed into an all-inclusive Paradisus Resort by mid-autumn this year. This spectacular transformation, which will be completed by 15th November 2012, is the answer to the demands of many customers who wish to take luxury holidays in Cancun in a lush and high-quality venue that doesn’t require them to take out their wallets. It is Melia’s goal to offer clients a superior customer product, traditionally not associated with all-inclusive properties.
Melia Hotels International is one of the world’s largest hotel chains and Spain’s most important one. It was initially founded under the name of Sol Melia in 1956, and it currently possesses 350 hotels in 35 countries on 4 continents under its different brands: Gran Melia, Melia, ME, Innside, Tryp by Wyndham, Sol and Paradisus.
By bringing its most successful brand to the Mexican city, the hotel chain wishes to increase the popularity of Cancun holidays as well as build on the fantastic and growing reputation of its two new flagship properties that recently opened in Playa del Carmen. The renovated property, Paradisus Cancun Resort, will include 136 Royal Service Sites and 97 Family Concierge Suites, and will offer guests a unique dining experience with eight fabulous restaurants including the signature beach-front Gabi Club as well as the exclusive new restaurant ‘Passion’ by Michelin Star chef Martin Berasategui.

The Executive Vice President of Melia Hotels International, Andre Gerondeau, shared his delight with this new project and explained that there definitely was a gap for all-inclusive luxury Cancun hotels in the market. "Our Gran Melia Cancun guests had been asking for more comprehensive all-inclusive options and higher-end family-focused and adults-only amenities, it was evident that the Cancun area was missing a true luxury all-inclusive experience," he stated “Through our success of the Paradisus brand in the Caribbean and Mexico regions, we knew we had t bring our most successful brand to the area in order to offer a distinct experience that would set the property apart from the rest of the marketplace. With exciting new partnerships, such as 'Passion by Martin Berasategui', we are now able to provide an extraordinary product that had never previously been offered within the all-inclusive segment."

Paradisus Resorts all over the world are known for their impressive architecture, good taste in design, world-class cuisine and premium service. Among other attributes we can find thriving tropical gardens, wonderful restaurants, cosy suites, award-winning spas, immaculate beaches and oversized swimming pools. However, their most distinct attribute is that guests can relax completely in a beautiful environment, and not worry about paying for their drinks or their food, since the payment has already been made in advance.
Paradisus Cancun will be no exception in the amazing quality of this brand. The luxurious property will keep its striking multi-pyramid architecture, one of the most impressive designs in Cancun resorts, while a series of renovations will be done to beautify and make the venue even more pleasant. The adult-only Royal Service programme, the Family Concierge programme and the Kid’s Club, as well as four stylish pools with swim-up bars, full service YHI spa and Health Club and a 9-hole par 3- golf course are among the many facilities guests will be able to enjoy.
