Travellers planning their holidays in the British Virgin Islands this May are in for treat as the island is preparing for its annual three day beach front music festival- BVI Music Fest. The event is set to take place at the stunning Cane Garden Bay Beach at Tortola between 25th and 27th May 2012. Organisers are expecting the event to be well attended as the dates coincide with the US Memorial Day weekend- historically a time where holidaymakers from the US Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico and other surrounding locations converge in the British Virgin Islands.
The diverse crowd expected to be in attendance coupled with the fun-filled Caribbean atmosphere and the amazing talent that will be on display are all the ingredients needed for a memorable holiday to the British Virgin Islands.
The Cane Garden Bay Beach has long proved to be a popular spot for travellers booking their holidays in the British Virgin Islands. Cane Garden Bay is known not only as the go to place for holidaymakers interested in various water sports but also for the lively entertainment provided by the local bars and restaurants making it the ideal spot to host the 2012 BVI Music Fest.
Music Fest Committee Event Coordinator, Rhodni Skelton has expressed his confidence in the success of Music Fest 12 as it makes a return to a beach front location, “We have been eager to host Music Fest again on the beach. From its inception, people have come to know and recognise this festival as one of the top beach jams in the Caribbean. After a three-year hiatus from having the stage set within footsteps of the sea, we look forward to seeing the partygoers, music lovers, locals and tourists dancing and enjoying themselves on the water’s edge”.
Previous editions of the BVI Music Fest have proved to be a resounding success with appearances from an eclectic group of local, regional and international stars including Keyshia Cole, Trey Songz, Boyz II Men, Fantasia, Wyclef Jean, Luciano, Lucky Dube, The Temptations, Roberta Flack, Percy Sledge, Allison Hinds, Shurwayne Winchester, The Stylistics, Maxi Priest and Daddy Yankee. This year the performances promise to be equally varied with talent representing the full spectrum of musical genres on display including, “British Rock n’ Roll, Party Soca, Dancehall, R&B, Fusion Jazz and Roots Rock Reggae”.
A detailed list of the headline acts and performers are due to be released on the 23rd April 2012. By all accounts, BVI Music Fest 2012 is shaping up to be the perfect answer for travellers looking to escape to an exciting, fun filled holiday in the Caribbean.
