Cuba will soon have a new addition to its collection of boutique Havana hotels after the tourism company, Habaguanex, announced that it will be opening a new hotel on the city’s historic Malecon promenade.

The Hotel Terral is currently under construction and is situated in the heart of the Malecon boulevard in the Old Town of Cuba’s capital city, Havana. The hotel is scheduled to open next winter and will have 14 rooms and a range of services and facilities.

The seafront promenade stretches 7km along the coast from the colonial centre of Habana Vieja (Old Havana) to the modern part of the city and features nreaby numerous hotels, historical buildings and restaurants, and it is a great place for a romantic stroll during Cuba holidays.

Habaguanex operates 19 boutique hotels exclusively in Havana's old quarters and over 40 restaurants and cafes in the historic centre of the city.

The Habaguanex Hotels was established in 1994 by the Office of the Historian of Havana and the company recently opened the Hotel Marqués de San Felipe y Santiago de Bejucal which is located in Habana Vieja the historical centre of Havana and a World Heritage Site since 1982.

The news of the hotel opening was announced at the ongoing FITCUBA International Tourism Fair by the head of the Office of the Historian of Havana, Eusebio Leal, who said that plans are underway to build more Havana hotels along the historic promenade.
During a speech, Eusebio Leal highlighted the rehabilitation of Old Havana which includes Cuba hotels, plazas (squares), museums and shopping centres, saying that it would help promote Cuba as a better and improved tourist destination for foreign travellers.
