Vegas, Mexico and Dominican Republic to be the travel destinations of 2010
With 2010 already firmly here, some of the travel trends for this new year are being announced. The world's largest online travel resource, TripAtlas.com, is already daring to shed some light into which holiday destinations will be more popular in 2010. The renowned travel expert is predicting Mexico holidays and Dominican Republic holidays to be at the top of the list of highly demanded destinations for 2010 travellers. The company also has a very positive forecast for holidays to Las Vegas.
"Las Vegas will remain a top destination in 2010 due to the large number of hotel openings and cheap deals, including the recently built City Centre complex offering visitors a variety of new hotels, restaurants, night clubs and shopping options. Vegas is a perfect city for a long weekend getaway or a quick escape for those on the West Coast." explained Steven Kaufman, president and co-developer of TripAtlas.com.
"Mexico and the Dominican Republic continue to remain popular due to the high number of all-inclusive resorts that provide tremendous value and appeal to families and couples seeking all their amenities in one location," Kaufman added.
"As the economic climate got tough in 2009, people tend to rely more on their families, and we notice that same effect in the travel industry. For instance, all-inclusives are ideal for taking a second honeymoon, celebrating a birthday or planning a family reunion."
TripAtlas.com also forecasted a rise in holidays to Vancouver and Western Canada as a direct effect of the Winter Olympics, and a further increase for South Africa holidays is also in the horizon as a consequence of the FIFA World Cup this summer.
"Our Trend Tracker is one of the most unique features TripAtlas.com offers to travel agents and industry professionals. By understanding what destinations and products interest consumers, agents are able to promote vacation packages that appeal to travellers and generate business," explained Travis Snelling, general manager and co-developer of TripAtlas.com.
After a hard 2009 where the country suffered the backlash of the swine flu, Mexico holidays are ready to once again seduce discerning travellers with its many historic and cultural attractions as well as the appeal of Cancun holidays, with the Caribbean beauty of its turquoise waters.
Likewise, Dominican Republic holidays are ready to start blossoming again after a difficult 2009 in which despite seeing an increase in visitor number the profits saw a decline. It looks like this new year will present these holiday destinations with the opportunity to shine in 2010.
