A new Executive Chef has been appointed to the Lifestyle Holidays Vacation Club situated on the north coast of the Dominican Republic, in Puerto Plata.
Manny Slomovits, originally from New York, has over 18 years experience working within the culinary sector in the US and abroad and has worked at a number of five-star restaurants, luxury private yachts, luxury resorts, and private villas throughout the U.S and the Caribbean.
The Lifestyle Holidays Vacation Club resort offers members and guests on Dominican Republic holidays a range of accommodation from stylish hotel rooms to luxury individual villas, access to five swimming pools, a private beach, tennis courts, a luxury spa, and excellent restaurants.
Slomovits’ new role will be to ensure the smooth running of all Lifestyle Holidays Vacation Clubs which will include organising the dining experience and high quality food, and recruiting the best chefs and culinary service staff.
Gold medal winner of the Taste of the Bahamas, 2007, Slomovits said:
“I look for people who love what they do, that bask in the moment of creation and can keep their head in the game. Our members and guests don’t see the person who cooked the food but they see them through what is put in front of them and they should take great pride in that.”
“I love my job. In my role at Lifestyle Holidays Vacation Club, I am a chef who is also a teacher, a leader, thinker, artist and problem solver all rolled into one. When you eat something, it becomes a part of you and there has to be trust that it is going to be a worthwhile experience. That experience is important and I love being the one to direct it at LHVC.”
The resort is one of the most luxury Dominican Republic hotels and last year was listed as one of the “53 best destinations in the world” by the New York Times.
Guests on Dominican Republic holidays have a wide range of activities within and outside of the resort to enjoy during their stay. Visitors to the Dom Rep can enjoy snorkelling, horse-back riding, white water rafting, tours of the city of Puerto Plata, boat excursions, monster truck safaris, fishing, and relaxing days on one of the many pristine white sandy beaches.
