Sri Lanka was ruled by kings for over two thousand years, a time when Buddhism flourished and became the island's dominant religion. In the beginning of the 16th century parts of Sri Lanka were conquered by the Portuguese and Dutch, before it became a British colony. Sri Lanka eventually gained independent after peaceful negotiations with the British in 1948. The many different rulers and influences have created a rich cultural tapestry - yours to discover on our private tour.
Cultural Tour Itinerary
DAY 1 - ARRIVAL AND TRANSFER
Arrival, meet & greet and proceed to your selected hotel in the Cultural triangle. Rest of the day at leisure.
Overnight at your selected hotel in Sigiriya / Dambulla / Habarana.
DAY 2 - VISIT ANURADHAPURA
After breakfast depart for Anuradhapura and commence a city tour of the ancient ruins and the Sri Maha Bodhi (the oldest tree on earth). Later Visit Mihintale and return to your selected hotel.
Overnight at your selected hotel in Sigiriya / Dambulla / Habarana
DAY 3 - VISIT POLONNARUWA / SIGIRIYA
After breakfast visit the famous Sigiriya Rock Fortress and Frescoes.
Afternoon visit the ancient ruins of Polonnaruwa.

DAY 4 - TRANSFER TO RESORT OR AIRPORT (Accommodation not included)
After breakfast later in the morning proceed to visit the famous Dambulla Rock Cave Temples after which proceed to the airport or your selected beach resort.
