This is a journey through the heart of India to explore old and new part of Delhi the capital city; extensive jungles of Bandhavgarh which is world renowned as an important Tiger habitat; the erotic sculptures of Khajuraho; the religious capital of India, Varanasi; the province of the Mughal Empire, Lucknow and the Taj Mahal in Agra exemplifies the art and architecture of the Mughals. Isn't it wonderful to find all of this within close proximity of each other? A definitely well preserved haven of history, wildlife, art, architecture and culture despite the onslaught of modernity and urbanization in the region.

Day 1 - Arrive Delhi

Upon arrival in Delhi, you will be met & assisted by our representative & will be transferred to your hotel.

Delhi is a cosmopolitan city that has a rich history stretching back thousands of years. It has been the capital of at least seven or eight great civilizations, and each of them has left monuments worth exploring.

Spend the rest of the day relaxing at the hotel or explore the surroundings on your own.

Stay overnight in New Delhi.

Day 2 -Delhi To Jabalpur To Bandhavgarh

Today morning after breakfast, connect your flight to Jabalpur.

Departure Delhi At: 1230 Hrs. By: AI 9617

Upon arrival in Jabalpur, transfer to Bandhavgarh (190 kms / 05 Hrs)

On arrival in Bandhavgarh, check-in at the hotel.

Bandhavgarh National Park, situated amid the airy Vindhya hills of Madhya Pradesh, has established a reputation as one of the best places in India to observe Tigers. The 105 square kilometres of park area, open for tourists is estimated to have a population of 22 tigers, a density of one tiger for every 4.77 square kilometres.

Day 3 - Bandhavgarh

Early morning, you will proceed for a shared jeep safari in the jungle in the quest of tigers.

You will return to hotel for buffet breakfast and spend the morning at leisure. After having lunch at the hotel, you will again head to the jungle for afternoon shared jeep safari.

(Afternoon safari's does not operate on all Wednesdays)

Evening will remain at leisure. Overnight in Bandhavgarh

Day 4 - Bandhavgarh To Khajuraho

Today morning after breakfast, drive to Khajuraho (250 kms / 05 Hrs).

Upon arrival in Khajuraho, check-in at the hotel.

Khajuraho was built by the Chandela dynasty, which rose to power in Central India between the 10th and 11th centuries and is home to some 25 odd temples depicting the different facets of life, including the erotic. These erotic carvings on some panels have given rise to much speculation since Khajuraho's rediscovery by a British officer in 1838. To preserve it for posterity, Khajuraho has been declared a World Heritage Site and is among the prominent destinations on the world tourism map.

Spend the rest of the day at leisure. Overnight in Khajuraho.

Day 5 - Khajuraho To Varanasi

Today morning after breakfast, proceed to visit the Western temples of Khajuraho. Among the western group of temples, the most famous is the Kandariya Mahadev temple, 32 meters high with a fantastic range of sculptures including sensuous themes. Other temples include the Chaunsat Yogini, which is a granite temple, the Devi Jagdambe temple dedicated to the Mother Goddess, the Chitragupta temple, dedicated to Surya the Sun God, etc.

After the sightseeing, connect your flight to Varanasi.

On arrival in Varanasi, check-in at the hotel.

In the evening, you will proceed to witness an illuminated aarti being performed at Dasahwamedh Ghat. The presiding priests stand on a wooden Chauki in the water. To the chant of Sanskrit mantras, and the clash of cymbals and drums, the river is worshipped with flowers, incense, sandalwood, milk and vermilion.

Overnight in Varanasi.

Day 6 - Varanasi

Early morning, you will proceed for a short boat ride on river Ganges to view the sunrise. Varanasi's unique culture is associated to the river Ganges, where life and death intermingle.

On the way back to hotel, you will visit the city's principle shrine - the Vishwanath temple, dedicated to Shiva.

You will return to hotel for breakfast followed by an excursion to Sarnath. It was here that the Buddha preached his first discourse in the deer park to set in motion the 'Wheel of the Dharma'. The museum at Sarnath (Sarnath Museum Closed on Fridays) is amongst the most important in India and contains carvings representing a whole range of styles - archaic, the Mathura School, Gupta, past Gupta and Medieval -covering work of sculptors from the 3rd century B.C. to the 12th century A.D.

Evening will remain at leisure. Overnight in Varanasi.

Day 7 - Varanasi To Lucknow

Today morning after breakfast, drive to Lucknow (320 kms / 07 Hrs).

Upon arrival in Lucknow, check-in at the hotel.

Lucknow - 'The City of Nawabs' is an intriguing blend of old world charm, warm hospitality, courteous people, beautiful architecture and rich heritage. The city also is the centre for Chikan embroidery, renowned for its timeless grace and gossamer delicacy; it is a skill more than 2000 years old.

Spend the evening at leisure. Overnight in Lucknow.

Day 8 - Lucknow

In morning, enjoy sightseeing tour of Lucknow visiting Bara Imambara. This monument was built as a relief measure for a devastating famine, in order to provide employment to the subjects of the state by Nawab Asif-ud-Daula. Also see the 'Rumi Darwaza' or the Turkish Gate and the Asfi Mosque.

Later you will be transferred to the Husainabad Complex - The Clock Tower is the highest Clock Tower in Asia and in some ways superior to its counterpart, 'Big Ben'. Visit the Babylon of East, the Husainabad Imambara, known for its beauty and pieces of decor.

Afternoon will be spent touring the "British Lucknow". Visit the Lucknow Residency (Closed on Fridays) where speechless walls are known to speak the gruesome tale of the 1857 mutiny. The sprawling British campus witnessed nothing less than 3000 deaths to keep the Union Jack flying. Yet the British could not defend their domain and the buildings were lost to the high spirited and enthusiastic Indians who fought till their last breath.

Spend the evening at leisure. Overnight in Lucknow.

Day 9 - Lucknow To Agra

Today morning enjoy a leisurely breakfast at the hotel.

Later connect your train to Agra.

Upon arrival in Agra, check-in at the hotel.

Synonymous with the Taj Mahal the beautiful city is home to some of the finest mausoleums, forts and palaces. The entire city speaks volumes about the wealth, craftsmanship and architecture of the Mughal Dynasty.

Overnight in Agra.

Day 10 - Agra To Delhi

Today morning after breakfast, proceed to visit the Taj Mahal (Closed on Fridays). Taj is built by Mughal Emperor Shahjahan to enshrine the mortal remains of his beloved Queen Mumtaz Mahal.

Later visit the massive Agra Fort which was originally started by Emperor Akbar in 1565, but his son Jahangir & grandson Shah Jahan later made valuable additions to it.

In the evening you will be assisted & transferred in your private car to Agra railway station to connect train back to Delhi.

Upon arrival in Delhi, you will be met & assisted for your transfer to the hotel. Overnight in Delhi.

Day 11 - Delhi

Today after breakfast, you will be going for a full day city tour of Old and New Delhi. In Old Delhi you will visit the 17th century Jama Masjid and walk through the narrow, winding lanes of the colourful and bustling Chandni Chowk.

In New Delhi, You can drive past The Presidential Palace and all the government buildings. Also visit the glorious Qutab Minar and the 16th century Humayun's tomb, a precursor to the Taj Mahal.

Evening is at leisure. Stay overnight in New Delhi.

Day 12 - Departure Delhi

Today morning after breakfast, you will be assisted & transferred in your private car to connect your flight back home.
