E Hotel “Barcelona” in Remedios, reopened in 2012 and is located just off the central square, so ideally located for local attractions. Take a walk through streets steeped in 19th century colonial architecture, where the Hotel is also perfectly situated to enjoy the town's colourful festivals, particularly the Christmas “Parrandas de Remedios” and many other cultural events that take place around the main square throughout the year.

Close to Santa Clara is the municipality of Remedios, eighth village founded by the Spanish in the first quarter of the 16th century.  Its historical center was declared a National Monument in 1980 due to its genuine colonial architecture that exhibits relics such as the “Parroquial Mayor”, the “Buen Viaje” church, the House of “Las Arcadas”, Alejandro Garcia Caturla’s latest home, today a museum devoted to local music and musicians and the Parrandas Pop Art museum,  only one of its kind in Cuba among many other interesting buildings that tell the story of the town as they host recently restored old cafes, bars and hotels.
