Day 1: Arrive in Vientiane

Arrive in Laos’ laid back capital, Vientiane.
Upon arrival at the airport, you will be met and transferred to your hotel in the city where you can rest for a while.
Head out into the centre for a short orientation walk and finish by watching the sun set over the Mekong River and sit and watch the world go by.

Day 2: Explore Vientiane and the Buddha Park

After breakfast, it is time to head out and explore the sights.
Start at the grand Wat Sisaket, a temple filled with thousands of miniature Buddha statues and carry on to Wat Prakeo. Following an interesting visit to the COPE Centre, you will carry on to take in the Vientiane’s own Arc de Triumph, the Patuxay Monument and finally ending at the sacred That Luang Stupa.
In the afternoon, you head out to the enchanting Buddha Park before ending the day with a spectacular view of the sun setting over the Mekong River.

Day 3: Travel out to 4,000 Islands (Khong Island)

Starting with an early breakfast, it is then time to leave Vientiane and head to the airport for a short flight to Pakse, the provincial capital of Champasack.
Once you have landed, continue on via road to Wat Phu, even older than the iconic Angkor Wat, the complex showcases the ingenuity of the Khmer society that constructed it.
Carry on to Khong Island, a part of the 4,000 Islands region.

Day 4: 4,000 Islands (Khone Island)

Today you travel across to Khone Island via a boat trip where you can explore the charming French heritage sites on the island and the remains of a locomotive from the first Lao railway.
Carry on the adventure to the Liphi waterfall, also known as Samphamith, and onto the Khone Phapheng Waterfalls, South East Asia’s biggest waterfall which is also described as the Niagrara of the East.

Day 5: Travel to Luang Prabang

After breakfast it is time to leave the 4,000 islands and travel back to Pakse airport for a short flight to Luang Prabang.
When you arrive in Luang Prabang you will be greeted by your local guide and transferred to your hotel where you can enjoy the rest of the day at leisure in town.

Day 6: Luang Prabang tour 

In the morning, head out and explore the tranquil Wat Visoun with its iconic Watermelon Stupa before heading for Wat Aham, the site of Luang Prabang’s most important shrine.
Carry on to the National Museum where you can gain a unique insight into Laos’s royal heritage as well as gaze upon the sacred Prabang Buddha image which Luang Prabang is named after.
End your day of sightseeing on top of Phou Sy Mountain where you'll find stunning panoramic views out across the city and out into the surrounding area.

Day 7: Luang Prabang and Pak Ou Caves 

This morning you’ll get the chance to visit Luang Prabang’s most stunning temple, Wat Xieng Thong. Dating back to the 16th Century, the temple was built by King Setthathirat and is decorated with ornate carvings and colourful mosaics.
Follow on with a boat trip up the Mekong River to the visit the sacred Buddha caves of Pak Ou. It is here you’ll find hundreds of Buddhas housed in the caves for you to explore.
After lunch by the river, you’ll stop by the local villages of Ban Xanghai and Xang Khong known for their local rice wine and handmade paper.

Day 8: Bamboo Experience and Kuang Si Waterfall

Today you will have an exciting day learning of the importance of bamboo in the Lao culture as well as exploring the stunning natural landscapes in the area.
Just outside the town centre, the Bamboo Experience Plantation and Pavilion gives you the chance to learn all about the traditional and modern uses of bamboo in Lao.
In the afternoon, you’ll drive out amongst the rice fields and local villages and stop in an ethnic minority village to learn about their traditions and cultures. Carry on to the idyllic Khuang Si Waterfall where you can enjoy a blissful rest in the cooling pools and exploring the lush forest surroundings.
This afternoon you will also have the opportunity to visit the Asian Black Bear Rescue Center before returning to Luang Prabang

Day 9: Depart from Luang Prabang

After breakfast, the rest of the day is free at leisure for any last minute shopping or sightseeing before being transferred to the airport for your departure flight.
