Visiting Vietnam is making the trip of a lifetime - even more so when you're doing it with your husband, wife or partner. The country transcends the typical couple activities and defies categorisation, offering a vast array of activities that you are certain to love doing with the man or woman of your dreams.
Discovering what this incredible nation has to offer - which includes stunning natural beauty, extraordinary cities to explore and plenty of opportunities to get romantic in intimate restaurants or on lonely beaches - is an incredible experience, and one that you should share with the love of your life.
Seeking inspiration? Have no fear - below is our handy guide that encompasses just a sample of what's on offer in Vietnam for couples.
Witness gorgeous natural scenes
Picture the scene. The sun hangs low in the sky - a great red ball of flame, steadily staining the clouds a deep crimson colour. Reflected across a flat mirror-like expanse of water - pierced by extraordinary limestone formations - the vision is both inspiring and romantic. Welcome to Ha Long Bay, one of the must-see natural attractions of Vietnam. Taking a boat out here and exploring some of the natural caves and floating villages is about as romantic as you can get.
Or how about wandering hand in hand near the dense woodland of Ban Gioc, where some of the most beautiful waterfalls in the country can be found? Listen as the water tinkles delicately on the surface of the lakes.
From river deltas to inspiring mountains, tropical islands and opportunities to witness incredible wildlife, you and your partner are unlikely to forget your trip to Vietnam. There are national parks, UNESCO World Heritage Sites and more to discover - Mother Nature was having a good day when she turned her hand to this magnificent nation.
Discover Vietnam's vibrant culture
Throughout Vietnam, you will come across many chances to discover the unique culture that exists here and which makes the nation so special. From intimate restaurants serving up fresh noodle soup to elegant floating markets, discovering the local folklore together is one of the most fantastic things you can do with another person.
If you're both adventurous, you could choose to hike into the mountains, counting on each other as you challenge the mighty peaks. Or you might travel to the tropical islands in the south, finding out how things are different here to mainland Vietnam and relaxing on the beach together. Failing that, make it a city break and explore the temples, museums and shopping scene of Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City or Hue together. Revel in history or focus on the present - as a couple, it's your job to decide.
Rest up in a luxurious hotel
Exploring a country together should not be taken lightly - especially somewhere as special and unique as Vietnam. Book yourself a luxurious tour that finishes with one or two days on the beach, with plenty of opportunity to indulge in a dip in the azure waves or pay a visit to the spa after you've finished your sun worshipping. There's even opportunities for adventure on the beach as visitors can take the plunge with a diving excursion and witness some of the fantastic reefs and marine life that Vietnam has to offer.
Vietnam's gorgeous stretches of coastline attract many five-star resorts, with places such as Nha Trang, Mui Ne and Phu Quoc proving particularly popular for those seeking the best available accommodation to enjoy as a couple.
