Day 1
The tour of Oman starts in the picturesque fishing village of Quriyat. Stroll around the beautiful harbour and take photos before we drive along the off-road dirt track to see the beautiful Bimah Sinkhole. This spectacular limestone crater is a geological formation, created many years ago by a collapsing mounting. The large hole is full of clear, blue-green sea water and is a popular swimming spot for locals and tourists. We then drive on to Finns Beach, a pristine white sandy beach, for another photo stop and a relaxing swim. Next, we travel to Wadi Shab, or Wadi Tiwi, one of the most beautiful wadis (oasis) in Oman before moving on to visit the tomb of Bibi Miriam in Qalhat village.
Finally, we drive on to the ancient fishing town of Sur. Here we walk around the ancient harbour and watch the local fishermen as they bring in their daily catch. We also visit the famous Dhow building yard where these traditional Omani wooden fishing boats are still built by hand today. After freshening up and dinner at Ras Al Hadd or Sur Beach Hotel, you will be taken to see one of nature’s most spectacular sights − giant green turtles nesting on the beautiful Ras Al Had beach. This is one of the most amazing and memorable experiences you will ever have. You can even help the baby turtles in their long journey towards the open sea once they have hatched, where they are safer from their predators. This is a day to remember.

Day 2
After breakfast, we drive along the scenic coastal road to one of Oman’s north eastern regions, Al Ashkhara. On the way, you will see many beautiful native Omani birds. We follow the coastal road for about 160 km until we reach the fishing village of Ras Al Ruwais. Here you can enjoy a short cruise on the beautiful deep blue waters of the Arabian Sea. You can also enjoy a spot of fishing on the local waters, which are rich with marine life. In Al Ras Ruwais a delicious Arabic barbeque dinner will be prepared in our camp site, comprising salads and starters, fish (or chicken/meat upon request), fresh bread and soft drinks. To prepare for dinner, we will collect firewood to make a bonfire. You can’t beat the taste of freshly cooked fish and meat prepared on a barbeque in the great outdoors.

Day 3
Enjoy a breakfast of fresh fruit with tea and coffee before we pack up the camp and drive across the spectacular Wahiba Sands. With an expert guide, we drive over these beautiful, undulating red and white dunes for approximately 180km through the middle of the vast desert wilderness. Enjoy the exhilaration of dune bashing via four-wheel drive, and you can even take a camel ride! Afterwards, we will stop at a traditional Bedouin home in an old Bedouin village, where you will be welcomed with Omani Khava (coffee) by these hospitable desert dwellers. Colourful, handmade Bedouin crafts, made by the local women, are available for purchase here, making excellent souvenirs. We then continue our drive to the village of Bidiya, where you can enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before heading back to Muscat. This three-day tour is an excellent way to experience Oman’s beautiful scenery and fascinating local culture in a limited amount of time.
