Duration: Half Day

Windsurfing in le Morne - Club Mistral Course

Situated in the heart of the Indian Ocean, Mauritius is one of the most beautiful island nations in the world. Blessed with volcanic peaks, lush forests, crystal clear azure waters and stunning white sandy beaches, this idyllic tropical island is as close to paradise as you can get. Holiday makers come here from all over the world to relax and unwind, but there are plenty of activities to enjoy too – both on land and in the water. This excursion will take you on a windsurfing adventure in Le Morne, one of the prettiest and windiest places on the island.

Located at the south-western tip of Mauritius, Le Morne is a beautiful isolated peninsula which is famous both for its UNESCO World Heritage status and world-class waves, which are perfect for many water sports. Surfing, kitesurfing and windsurfing are particularly popular here, and courses and lessons are available for all levels of experience. Aside from its excellent wind conditions, one of the biggest attractions of Le Morne is its exquisite natural beauty.

The Club Mistral/ Sky Riders centre offers tuition for both beginners and experts, which are tailored to your individual requirements. The passionate, qualified instructors will ensure that you get the very best out of your experience, which is a way of life for them. Located at the Indian Resort on the most famous spot of Le Morne, Club Mistral is perfectly situated to take advantage of a variety of conditions, which offers maximum fun for water sports enthusiasts. Windsurfing, kitesurfing and surfing equipment is available for rental at the centre.

From the beach front you will step into a beautiful turquoise lagoon which is shallow and safe for beginners, although you need to be careful of the reefs and rocks further out. More experienced windsurfers can start directly in front of the Club Mistral centre before heading further round the peninsula. Once you have mastered the basic techniques, enjoy the thrills and adventure as you ride the waves of the Indian Ocean on your board, your sail powered by the force of the wind.

Not to be missed during your holiday in Mauritius, you will undoubtedly discover a deep and lasting passion for water sports after this exhilarating experience, and you certainly couldn’t wish for a better destination.
