The Maldives are made up approximately 1200 coral islands, which are grouped in a double chain of 27 atolls stretching over 800km from north to south. Located on the equator, southwest of Sri Lanka and India, the climate here is generally warm and humid with plenty of sunshine throughout the year, so it is an excellent location to visit at any time. Only about 200 of the islands are inhabited, and just over 80 of the islands are used as resorts, so you will undoubtedly stumble across plenty of idyllic, secluded spots for swimming, snorkeling and sunbathing. Whether you are seeking pure relaxation on deserted islands, or adventure on the open water, you can do as little or as much as you want here.

If you would like to gain a unique and surreal perspective of the Maldives, parasailing is one of the most exciting activities available. The new Emboodhoo Lagoon project will develop up to nine islands with a central core island containing a harbour and a township where all facilities will be concentrated.
