The St Regis Bahia Beach Resort in Puerto Rico has announced it will reopen to guests in October 2018, following an extensive refurbishment programme. The luxury hotel has renovated all of its guest rooms and suites, as well as its signature restaurant, bar and oceanfront pool. The hotel is also planning to spend $30 million expanding its accommodation with the addition of 60 new oceanfront rooms on a secluded stretch of beach.

Serafina Beach Hotel is first hotel to open in Puerto Rico in 2018

The Serafina Beach Hotel has opened to guests in the Condado district of San Juan in Puerto Rico. The luxury hotel has 96 guest rooms and a beachside pool, and is the first hotel to open on the Caribbean island in 2018. The property is the first hotel to launch under the popular Serafina Restaurant Group that owns a collection of New York-style dining outlets.

Wyndham Grand Rio Mar Puerto Rico Golf and Beach Resort reopens

One of Puerto Rico's most popular resorts has reopened to guests following a multi-million-dollar refurbishment programme. The Wyndham Grand Rio Mar Puerto Rico Golf and Beach Resort has upgraded its lobby, Tiki Hut, and Barista Cafe, and added a new "Caicu Rum Bar". More than $1.2 million was also spent renovating the luxury hotel's Marbella restaurant.

El San Juan Hotel to reopen in Puerto Rico in October

The El San Juan Hotel in Puerto Rico has announced it will officially reopen to guests in October after it was forced to close when it was damaged by Hurricane Maria last year. The luxury hotel is a Curio - A Collection by Hilton property located in Isla Verde. It has 388 guest rooms and is undergoing repairs and renovations to its accommodation and facilities.

Windstar Cruises has made its return to San Juan in Puerto Rico, following the aftermath of a series of hurricanes that hit the Caribbean region in September. The small-ship cruise line's first ship set sail to the Caribbean island last month to highlight that the country is once again open for business. Puerto Rico plans to welcome back tourists by December

In spite of damage from Hurricane Maria, Puerto Rican travel officials say they are hopeful that tourists will return to the islands in December, the beginning of the high tourist season. Many of the island’s hotels remain closed, and hundreds of businesses are without power, but tourism officials are optimistic that the tourists, a major part of the country’s economy, will return this year.

Carnival Fascination postpones cruises from Puerto Rico until February

Carnival Cruise Line has revealed that it has postpones all sailings of Carnival Fascination from San Juan in Puerto Rico, following the devastation caused by the recent series of hurricanes and storms. The cruise line announced that the vessel will be used to assist hurricane relief workers in the Caribbean and will be chartered by the Federal Emergency Management Agency. The cruise ship will resume its Caribbean holiday sailings from February 2018.

Aloft San Juan, Puerto Rico to mark hotel brand's debut in the Caribbean

Aloft Hotels has announced that it will make its debut in the Caribbean with the launch of a new hotel in Puerto Rico. The luxury property will be located in the mixed-used development, The District, in the capital San Juan’s Miramar Convention Centre District. The hotel will have 175 loft-style guest rooms and is scheduled to open in the second half of 2019.
