Fat Cat Ocean Adventures

Duration: Half Day

Fat Cat Ocean adventures

Spend a relaxing day cruising along the sparkling azure waters of the Caribbean Sea during your holiday in Mexico, followed by snorkeling along the beautiful Yucatan peninsula. This unforgettable ocean adventure aboard the “Fat Cat” catamaran is too good an opportunity to miss.

Departing from your hotel in Puerto Aventuras, you will be transported to the marina where you will climb on board the “Fat Cat”, a 41 foot custom built catamaran, before venturing out across the crystal clear ocean. After a short safety briefing, the friendly crew will serve drinks and fresh tropical fruit platters whilst we sail north towards Bahia Ihna. Marvel at the stunning scenery as we cruise along the coast of the Riviera Maya on the Yucatan peninsula, which is blessed with glorious white sandy beaches, secluded bays, mangroves, cenotes and underground caverns, in addition to some fascinating archeological sites and ruins. It is not surprising that this popular tourist area offers so many exciting activities for the adventurous traveller.

Depending on wind conditions (to maximise sailing), we will either anchor at Bahia Ihna to snorkel along the beautiful coral reef here, or cruise south to Xpu Ha, the most beautiful beach on the Riviera Maya. Boasting dazzling white powdery sands and a stunning crystal clear turquoise lagoon and cenote (water-filled limestone sinkhole), this is the epitome of Caribbean paradise. Both locations are idyllic for snorkeling, offering safe, shallow waters; underground rivers; beautiful coral reefs and an abundance of tropical marine life. Amongst the vibrant corals, fans and sponges you will find hundreds of colourful reef fish, as well as sea turtles, moray eels, barracuda and many other exciting species. This magical underwater world is truly breathtaking.

After snorkelling and swimming you can climb back on board and enjoy a light picnic lunch and a glass or two of the famous ”Fat Cat Punch”, as well as unlimited soft drinks, beers and cocktails from the open bar. As the boat heads back towards Puerto Aventuras, you will get the chance to jump on the Fat Cat’s famous “Boom Net” if you’re brave enough. There is also time for one last swim once we stop south of the entrance to Puerto Aventuras Marina, where you can experience the cold waters from the cenotes jet up from the ocean floor. This unforgettable sailing adventure is the perfect way to explore Mexico’s stunning eastern coastline – both above and below the water.
