Kontiki and Calypso

Duration: Full Day

kontiki and calypso

Climb aboard the Kontiki, a double-decker catamaran, and spend a fun-filled day sailing the sparkling azure waters of the Caribbean. Swim, snorkel and dance the afternoon away to the infectious sounds of island music. You won’t want the day to end!

Discover the breathtaking beauty of the Dominican Republic’s East coast as you cruise past the dazzling white sandy shores of the Punta Cana region, one of the country’s most popular holiday spots. Your tour will start from Playa Bavaro, one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, where you will jump on board the double-decker Kontiki party boat for an unforgettable day of fun and relaxation.

Feel the sun on your face and the tropical sea breeze through your hair as you sit back on either the top or bottom deck with a refreshing rum cocktail, admiring some of the most beautiful scenery in the Caribbean. This part of the Dominican is blessed with crystalline turquoise waters, coral reefs and pristine white-sand beaches lined with swaying coconut palms and lush tropical flora – the epitome of paradise.

You will get the opportunity to swim and snorkel in the alluring waters once we stop at the famous Buccaneers Reef, one of the best snorkeling sites in Punta Cana. All equipment is free of charge and training is available for those who need it. Discover the beauty of the Caribbean’s majestic undersea world as you explore vibrant corals teeming with brightly-coloured tropical fish such as trumpet fish, clown fish, grunts and angelfish.

You can even feed the fish by hand, which is a magical experience not to be missed. You will also see an abundance of other marine species such as sea turtles, moray eels, spiny lobsters, yellow stingrays, starfish and many, many more. The colours and diversity of this natural aquarium will take your breath away.

Back on board, let the party begin! Your friendly crew will entertain you with live music, fun and dancing as we cruise gently back to Playa Bavaro. Whilst the rum punch flows, swing your hips to the rhythms of calypso, meringue, reggae and popular disco classics in true Caribbean style. The party atmosphere will certainly get you in the mood for dancing. This unforgettable day in paradise is a wonderful way to begin or end your holiday in the Dominican Republic.
