Sky Way

Duration: Half Day

sky way

Located in at the Villa Lapas private reserve, in close proximity to Carara National Park, the Sky Way attraction in Costa Rica is an exciting combination of well-maintained, natural trails and hammock-style, hanging bridges. There are five suspended bridges in total, which tower at more than 180 feet above the ground.

Crossing through the heart of the unspoiled tropical rainforest, through two unique eco-systems that lie between the tropical and dry Pacific, this tour provides fantastic opportunities for wildlife observation. Spot exotic creatures like the poison-arrow frog, coatis, monkeys, American crocodiles, agoutis, raccoons, lizards, deer, anteaters, over a hundred different bird species and many more. Walk deep into the rainforest and experience the sounds and smells of the jungle firsthand. Observe beautiful flora and fauna all around you, and get your camera ready to capture spectacular panoramic views of Carara National Park, the Pacific Ocean and the Tarcoles River.

The Sky Way walking tour is extremely accessible for children and adults of all ages, offering complete security and peace of mind for the duration of the tour. The trail has a length of 2.5 km with descending slopes, and takes approximately one and a half hours, depending on the speed you walk. The bridges are built out of metal, held with metallic towers, and they each have a fence and hand rail to ensure your safety and comfort. The Skyway tour is one experience not to be missed on your nature holiday in Costa Rica.

Length of tour: Half-Day
What to bring: Walking shoes, sun block, insect repellent, camera, long pants and hat.
