Sunset and Snorkeling

Duration: Half Day

sunset and snorkeling

Holidays in Costa Rica conjure up images of glorious white-sand, palm-fringed beaches and crystal clear waters, which offer some of the best snorkeling and diving in the world. This tour will take you on a coastal cruise to the beautiful Catalina Islands off the Pacific coast of Costa Rica, one of the best diving sites in the area.

Spend the day feeling soft ocean breezes, hearing rustling palms, staring at impeccable blue skies, feeling the soft, warm sand beneath your toes and listening to the rhythmic crashing of the surf, whilst being served refreshments and tropical fruit. On board a comfortable vessel, you will cruise around Brasilito and Potrero Bays, Conchal Beach and the Catalina Islands before anchoring near a beautiful secluded beach where you can collect shells, sunbathe or swim and snorkel in the clear, warm azure waters.

Offering better average weather conditions, fewer rivers and greater visibility, the Pacific coast is extremely popular for snorkelling, which is why many people choose to visit the Catalina Islands. Because these exposed islands are volcanic and sedimentary, snorkelling in this area is also an extremely rewarding experience, guaranteeing excellent opportunities for underwater exploration amongst the rocks and caves, and an abundance of marine life that would be hard to find elsewhere.

Here, the beautiful coloured reefs are small, and can be found scattered throughout the sandy sea bed. As you swim in and out of these coral reefs, you can expect to see a myriad of tropical marine life, including giant manta rays, stingrays, sea turtles, octopus, red snapper, starfish, pufferfish, rooster fish, live corals, moray eels, white tipped reef sharks, large schools of tropical fish and many other fish and coral species in varying shapes, sizes and colours.

As you cruise back to the main shore, relax and watch a glorious sunset, the perfect end to a day that will remain one of the most unforgettable experiences of your life.

What to bring: cool comfortable clothes (t-shirt and shorts are recommended), tennis shoes or sandals, sun block, insect repellent, hat, binoculars and camera. Length of tour: half day.
