Situated between the Atlantic Coast and the Caribbean Sea, the beautiful island of Barbados attracts visitors from all over the world to fish in its waters and enjoy the pristine white beaches and relaxed lifestyle. Here, as on many Caribbean islands, fishing is a popular pastime for Barbadians, and also a way of life – for local fisherman and for those who come here every year to take part in local and international tournaments.
Deep sea fishing, otherwise known as sport fishing, is also extremely popular with tourists. Various fishing tours can be booked whilst on holiday in Barbados, and throughout the Caribbean. The excitement and anticipation of waiting to see what will be caught out at sea is an adventure in itself.
This particular deep sea fishing tour will take you out into Barbados’ warm waters, where you are likely to catch big game fish such as Yellow and Black Fin Tuna, Barracuda, Sailfish, Wahoo, Dorado (dolphin fish), Billfish, Kingfish, Swordfish, Blue Marlin and White Marlin, depending on the time of year. Fishing tours are available all year round in Barbados, but it is particularly exciting between January and April when the various game fish species are all in season.
Barbados takes great pride in the deep sea fishing just off its shores, where big catches have resulted in game fishing world records, as they have in other areas off the Caribbean coast. Your knowledgeable and experienced captain and crew know the best fishing grounds in the region, and will be on hand to give you help and advice during the trip – as well as plenty of exciting, offshore action! Transfers, rods, bait, drinks and snacks will be provided on the tour, so all you have to do is be patient and wait to see what you catch!
Aside from the fishing, the tour is an enjoyable boat ride in itself. Marvel at views of Barbados’ calm West coast, boasting glorious white-sand beaches, colourful coral reefs and crystal clear turquoise waters. In contrast, the East coast is ruggedly beautiful, with its rough seas and rocky shores. Whether you are a sport fishing enthusiast or not, this exciting deep sea fishing adventure will undoubtedly get you hooked.
