Located in the North Atlantic Ocean, northeast of Venezuela, Barbados is one of the most beautiful islands in the Caribbean, boasting rugged landscapes and beautiful beaches on the East Coast (Atlantic side), and idyllic white sandy beaches and calm turquoise waters on the West Coast (Caribbean side). Whichever side of the island you visit, you can be certain of seeing some of the most breathtaking scenery in the West Indies, but why not explore that little bit further by booking a full or half day island safari adventure.

Barbados is extremely small for a Caribbean island, so you can see much of the island in a day. Prepare for one of the most exciting rides of your life as your skilful driver steers you off-road through gullies, rivers, forests and rough terrain on a comfortable 4x4 Land Rover. Drive through different parishes on the island, past sugarcane plantations, ruins and historical landmarks, and explore hidden bays and breathtaking beaches which were first discovered by early European settlers over 500 years ago.

Depending on the tour you book, some of the most picturesque locations you will visit on the eastern and north-eastern side of the island include Bathsheba, Bath, Harry Smith Beach, Edge Cliff, Joe's River Forest, Lion at Gun Hill and many, many more. Along the way, your professional guides will keep you entertained by sharing their local knowledge of Barbados, including folklore, culture and history of the island. Keep your camera handy because there will be many opportunities to stop and take photos on the trip. You will lucky enough to enjoy some of the most spectacular views on the island.

Lunch is included on full day tours, accompanied with a glass of wine and the island’s famous Jungle Juice (rum punch). Soft drinks and snacks will also be served along the way. Barbados records increase in international stayover tourists

The Caribbean island of Barbados is recording a growth in tourism numbers, according to the latest figures released by the Barbados Tourism Board. The island nation received 453,645 international overnight visitors between January and September, which is a 7.4 per cent increase compared to the same period in 2016. The majority of visitors came from the United States.

Fairmont Royal Barbados to temporarily close for renovation project

The Fairmont Royal Pavilion, Barbados has started an extensive renovation programme to improve and enhance its accommodation and facilities. Sandals Royal Barbados to open to tourists in December 2017

Sandals Resorts International announced last week that the Sandals Royal Barbados will open its doors to guests in time for the forthcoming winter season. The luxury resort will be the hotel group's second property to open on the Caribbean island, and it is due to launch on 20th December, 2017, with 222 all-concierge and butler-level suites, and the brand's first ever rooftop infinity swimming pool.
