An Island Safari Adventure
Duration: Half Day
Venture off the beaten track during your holiday in Barbados and explore some of the most beautiful places on the island. Travelling off-road on a 4x4 Land Rover will introduce you to idyllic spots inaccessible to tour coaches and standard hire cars. This island safari adventure promises a day of Caribbean fun and exploration.
Located in the North Atlantic Ocean, northeast of Venezuela, Barbados is one of the most beautiful islands in the Caribbean, boasting rugged landscapes and beautiful beaches on the East Coast (Atlantic side), and idyllic white sandy beaches and calm turquoise waters on the West Coast (Caribbean side). Whichever side of the island you visit, you can be certain of seeing some of the most breathtaking scenery in the West Indies, but why not explore that little bit further by booking a full or half day island safari adventure.
Barbados is extremely small for a Caribbean island, so you can see much of the island in a day. Prepare for one of the most exciting rides of your life as your skilful driver steers you off-road through gullies, rivers, forests and rough terrain on a comfortable 4x4 Land Rover. Drive through different parishes on the island, past sugarcane plantations, ruins and historical landmarks, and explore hidden bays and breathtaking beaches which were first discovered by early European settlers over 500 years ago.
Depending on the tour you book, some of the most picturesque locations you will visit on the eastern and north-eastern side of the island include Bathsheba, Bath, Harry Smith Beach, Edge Cliff, Joe's River Forest, Lion at Gun Hill and many, many more. Along the way, your professional guides will keep you entertained by sharing their local knowledge of Barbados, including folklore, culture and history of the island. Keep your camera handy because there will be many opportunities to stop and take photos on the trip. You will lucky enough to enjoy some of the most spectacular views on the island.
Lunch is included on full day tours, accompanied with a glass of wine and the island’s famous Jungle Juice (rum punch). Soft drinks and snacks will also be served along the way. After lunch you will also get the chance to cool down and swim in the inviting Caribbean waters, or relax on pristine white sands fringed by lush coconut palms. This exhilarating day of discovery will reveal some of Barbados’ best kept secrets.
