Runaway Beach Tour

Duration: Half Day

Runaway Beach Tour

The beautiful Caribbean island of Antigua is said to be blessed with 365 beaches – one for every day of the year. Boasting pristine white sands, lush swaying palm trees and crystal clear azure waters, each and every one will remind you of tropical paradise. This tour will take you to Runaway Beach on the northwest coast, where you can relax, swim or snorkel in some of the most breathtaking surroundings in the Caribbean.

Runaway Beach is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful and popular beaches in Antigua. Stretching for miles along the northwest coast of the island, the powdery soft white sands are seemingly endless so you can be sure of finding your very own secluded spot. Soak up the sun here and let your cares float away, or spend time strolling along the beach looking for unusual shells. If you fancy exploring further, it’s also worth venturing up to Corbinson Point, the rocky extension of land at the north end of Runaway Beach. Close by lies a salt pond, which is an important nesting ground for egrets, but many other marine birds can also be spotted around here.

The sun can get extremely hot in the Caribbean so make time to cool down and enjoy a refreshing swim in the alluring turquoise waters, or take advantage of the water sports available. During Antigua's winter season, the southern side of the bay becomes a haven for surfers, whilst snorkeling and windsurfing are popular all year round. Several bars and restaurants are located along the beach, so you can sip cocktails or enjoy a meal here as the sun goes down.

Nearby, Galley Bay Beach is another popular destination. Aside from its sugary white sands and crystalline waters, this beautiful beach is also a nesting area for sea turtles. On the east coast you will find Long Bay Beach, which is extremely popular for snorkeling, whilst a visit to the uninhabited Green Island just off the coast boasts pristine white sands and impressive coral reefs to explore.

Moving to the southeast coast, Half Moon Bay is one of the most photographed beaches in Antigua due its fine pink sands and lush tropical setting, and the popular Pigeon's Point Beach is also only a short drive away. Finally, Fryes Beach and Turner's Beach are amongst the most beautiful on the west coast, and on a clear day you even see the lush mountainous island of Montserrat from here. This is just a tiny selection to discover! Whichever beach you stumble upon during your holiday in Antigua, your very own idyllic island escape awaits you.
