Travellers can now stay in the world’s “furthest leaning hotel” after it officially opened earlier this month. The Andaz Capital Gate Abu Dhabi hotel is located in the iconic Capital Gate building, which is famously known as the “Leaning Tower of Abu Dhabi”.

The unusual Abu Dhabi building leans to the side at an incline of 18 degrees. The hotel, which is operated by Hyatt Hotels and Resorts, has 189 guest rooms and suites with floor-to-ceiling windows that boast views of the city.

The contemporary hotel is home to a permanent 5,000-square-feet art gallery, which exhibits curated pieces from local artists. Each room has been individually decorated by the artists, and the overall design theme of the hotel has been based on four symbols of Emirati culture: Mashrabiya or intricate wooden window adornments; Khatt, poetic Islamic calligraphy; Al Sadu, traditionally woven fabrics; and iconic Date Palm motifs.

The five-star hotel has a range of upscale facilities for guests to enjoy. These include an outdoor rooftop swimming pool, a business centre, a modern fitness centre, the Art Gallery 165 Below, and the Rayana Spa with pampering treatments. There are also three restaurants and bars, including 18 Degrees, Profiterole, and Lounge, with gourmet cuisine and premium drinks.

During their stay, guests can explore nearby Abu Dhabi attractions and sights. These include the Marina Mall and Abu Dhabi Mall, the World Trade Centre, Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, Emirates Heritage Village, Louvre Abu Dhabi, Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, Warner Bros. Studios Abu Dhabi, Emirates Palace and the Corniche Beach.

Hyatt Hotels and Resorts was founded in 1957, and is now an international hospitality company with more than 600 properties operating under 13 brands in more than 50 countries across the globe. These include Park Hyatt, Hyatt Ziva, Andaz, Hyatt House, Hyatt Place, Hyatt Zilara, and Grand Hyatt.

Abu Dhabi is one of seven United Arab Emirates in the Middle East. The emirate has become a popular destination for business and leisure travellers alike. The country is home to luxury hotels and resorts, golden beaches, fun attractions and theme parks, vast shopping malls and gourmet restaurants.
