Cambodia's new eco-friendly Six Senses Krabey Island resort on track to open in December

The lavish new Six Senses Krabey Island is already taking bookings following an announcement that the resort is on schedule for its expected opening this December.

The eco-friendly property, which will have its own glass water bottling plant and organic market farm, will add to Cambodia’s impressive selection of sustainable hotels with an enviable beachfront setting on an exuberantly green private island.

Set amid lush scenery with lush greenery draped around rooms and public resort areas, including the panoramic infinity pool, the new Six Senses Krabey Island seamlessly blends into the verdant tropical landscape in complete harmony with its surroundings.

Just days away from its scheduled opening on 1st December, the resort seems to be right on track for its grand debut. Customers can already book their place in paradise through the resort’s official website and those that do so for stays between 1st and 21st December or 11th and 21st January 2019 will be rewarded with an exclusive Six Senses Krabey Island Private Experience Package that includes a 20 percent discount on the best available rate.

The four-night package offers accommodation in a Hideaway Pool Villa Suite, a sunset cruise with cocktails and canapes, a dinner for two, excluding beverages, at signature restaurant Tree, a specially-crafted tasting lunch menu for two at Aha restaurant and a 90-minute therapeutic Khmer Herbal Massage for two. The finishing touches include and a visit to a local pagoda and a tour around the resort’s organic farm, followed by a Khmer cooking class and freshly-prepared lunch.

The expansive resort built on 12 hectares of private grounds and facing a pristine beach comprises a collection of 40 free-standing pool villas with privileged views of the sea and the jungle. In addition, it also boasts an extensive Six Senses Spa with a range of holistic therapies and beauty treatments as well as a wealth of health and fitness facilities, including a rooftop yoga pavilion, a Meditation Cave, Crystal Water Room and a comprehensive fitness centre. There’s also the Alchemy Bar where guests can create their own skin care products creating natural, locally-sourced ingredients.

Inspired by the sacred Khmer Kbal Spean River, the new Six Senses Krabey Island will offer a wealth of recreational options beyond its extensive wellness facilities. From a plethora of water sports on offer, including fishing and snorkelling, to a horizon lap pool, a night sky observatory, an open-air cinema, a jungle fitness circuit and organised farm visits with cooking classes, there’s no space for boredom. Kids will also have their own dedicated space with The Nest Kids’ Club, designed to entertain children aged between 4 and 12 and including the Grow with Six Senses programme.

But perhaps the resort’s most commendable aspect is its ground-breaking eco-friendly ethos, its outstanding green credentials and sustainable measures that include an innovative water bottling plant using glass bottles, an Earth Lab that covers 40,000-square-metre of organic farm and a coral propagation programme. Six Senses Krabey Island will also support school programmes in nearby villages as well as introduce sustainable practices to local Khmer communities. It all shows that a Cambodia holiday with Six Senses is about so much more than relaxing time away, but also giving back to the charming local community.
