Antigua to host biggest England Tour of the West Indies in 10 years

The West Indies are expected to massively benefit from the celebration of the biggest England tour in this part of the Caribbean in ten years. Between January and March 2019, thousands of fan-loving holidaymakers are expected to flock to Antigua, Barbados, Grenada, St Lucia and St Kitts to enjoy the live cricket action whilst also relaxing and enjoying some quality time off in this naturally enchanting part of the world.

Antigua to host biggest England Tour of the West Indies in 10 years

If you're a cricket fan and you want to make a de-stressing Caribbean holiday extra specia,l now it's the time to book your escape for the first three months of 2019. You can pick from Antigua, St Lucia, Barbados, Grenada and St Kitts to enjoy a pampering tropical holiday while catching live cricket action. It's your once-in-a-lifetime chance to enjoy your favourite sport in the most beautiful of tropical settings and with lovely, balmy weather to match!

For the first time in ten years, the England cricket team will be touring the West Indies between late January and early March 2019 with a two-month tour comprising three Test matches; to be hosted by Antigua, Barbados and St Lucia; five ODIs; to be held between Barbados, Grenada and St Lucia; while St Kitts hosts three T20Is.

This will be a very special cricket tour for a number of reasons, which is why we urge serious cricket fans to not delay in reserving their place and booking their holiday to either Barbados, Grenada, St Lucia, Antigua or St Kitts as fast as they can to avoid disappointment. It's so special because as recently announced by the ICC Future Tours Programme for 2019-2013, this will be last three-format England Tour to the Caribbean for the foreseeable future, meaning that the old, often abused "once-in-a-lifetime" adage here is as literal as it gets, as many won't get the chance to see another England tour of this kind in their lifetime.

There's also amazing history tying the two teams' sporting past which stretches as far back as 90 years. Once again both teams will battle it out for the Wisden Trophy, which the WINDIES have won the most with a total of 55 victories comparing to England's 48, and 51 drawn matches. Last time the two teams met on West Indies ground it all ended in a 1-1 draw with England keeping the trophy. Despite a WINDIES bounce back with a victory in 2017 at Headingley, England won the series 2-1.

Speaking about the momentous occasion, Johnny Grave, Chief Executive Officer at the Cricket West Indies, highlighted the significance of the series not only for the WINDIES team but also for the region's tourism industry, and, in turn, its economy.

"England coming to the region is always a special occasion for cricket fans and we are pulling out all the stops for a successful series on and off the field.

"West Indies fans create a unique spectator atmosphere and not only do England fans add to this, they bring in a significant tourism boost to the region as thousands will travel here to enjoy the cricket and experience the unique Caribbean culture and hospitality."

The England Tour of the West Indies 2019 starts in Barbados and ends in St Kitts and Nevis. Ticket will start to be sold online to the wider public on 1st November and will be available to book through windiescricket.com and its exclusive partner kyazoonga.com/westindies.

The January-March England tour to the West Indies schedule will be as follows:

So, will it be an Antigua holiday, Barbados holiday, St Lucia holiday, Grenada holiday or St Kitts holiday to start the new year on a good note, and even better sporting fashion?
