Aerotel Opens New Hotel for Transit Passengers at Abu Dhabi International Airport

Abu Dhabi Airports has announced the open of its new sleeping facility at Abu Dhabi International Airport. Aerotel of Plaza Premium Group operates the new transit sleeping facility which allows transit passengers to enjoy a quick power rest between flights. Travellers can book two-hour slots between 9 am and 8 pm, and four-hour slots between 8 pm and 9 am.

Abu Dhabi Airports has announced the launch of a new transit sleeping facility at Abu Dhabi International Airport. The hotel facility is operated by Aerotel of Plaza Premium Group and offers flexible booking slots for transit travellers.

The facility is open 24 hours a day and enables transit passengers who have to wait in Abu Dhabi for their next flight the chance to grab a power rest.

Passengers can book hourly slots, and there are special offers including two-hour day packages available between 9 am and 8 pm, and four-hour night packages between 8 pm and 9 am.

Saoud Al Shamsi, the Acting Chief Commercial Officer (ACCO) of Abu Dhabi Airports, explained: 

“Abu Dhabi Airports’ utmost priority is to ensure a convenient, seamless journey for passengers travelling through the Abu Dhabi International Airport.

“With more than 20 million people transiting through the airport, the establishment of Aerotel’s new hotel facility cements Abu Dhabi Airports’ position in providing world-class solutions to best accommodate such demand.”

Aerotel is located in Terminal 1 of the airport. There are 38 spacious rooms that are available in three categories: solo room, double plus and the double squared, which is perfect for families. This is the airport’s second facility which is operated by Aerotel of Plaza Premium Group.

Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH) opened in January 1982, and over the last three decades, it has become the gateway to the United Arab Emirates. The facility is home to more than 50 international airlines that provide routes to destinations all over the globe.

Over the years, the airport has received multiple honours and awards. These include being named the Best Premium Service Airport by Skytrax, the World Airports’ Awards; the Best Airport Marketing in the World Award by World Routes; the Best Airport in the Middle East; and the Best Airport for Tax-free Shopping by Business Destinations.

The airport boasts state-of-the-art facilities and services for travellers, including self-check-in kiosks, complimentary Wi-Fi, and remote check-ins. Passengers can enjoy access to children’s play areas, luxurious hospitality lounges, and a wide choice of restaurants and duty-free outlets. In 2019, the new Midfield Terminal will open at the airport, increase capacity.
