Puerto Rico is celebrating the opening of the first new hotel on the island this year. The Serafina Beach Hotel is the first hotel to open by the popular Serafina Restaurant Group.

Located in the Condado neighbourhood of San Juan in Puerto Rico, the hotel has 96 guest rooms. Accommodation boasts floor-to-ceiling windows with views of the Atlantic Ocean or the Condado Lagoon. In-room amenities include king or queen-size beds, wireless internet, 50-inch Smart TVs, minibars, plush bathrobes, docking stations, and Malin+Goetz bath products. Some rooms also offer private furnished terraces and early check-in and late check-out.

Vittorio Assaf, the Co-Owner of the Serafina Restaurant Group, commented:

“Expanding the Serafina brand into a lifestyle hotel experience is a natural fit and next step for my partner Fabio Granato and I. San Juan is a city close to our hearts and we could think of no better place to bring to life the essence of Serafina in a hotel experience. We look forward to welcoming guests to our beautiful island, which is open for business.

“Serafina Beach Hotel really captures the energy of the Condado district with stylish lounges, sleek guestrooms and signature Serafina hospitality.”

Guests will have access to luxury facilities at the boutique hotel. These include a modern fitness centre with Yoga deck, and a beachside infinity swimming pool. Dining options at the property include the aMare Restaurant with fresh seafood and local produce, the By The Pool bar, and the PinaCo Bar in the lobby area with handcrafted cocktails, espressos and juices.

During their stay in Puerto Rico, guests take part in a wide range of fun activities that can be organised by hotel staff. These include trekking through the El Yunque National Forest, zip lining through the mountains, kayaking along the Condado Lagoon, snorkelling or scuba diving in the sea, or private helicopter trips over the island.

The city of San Juan is vibrant and full of bars, cafes, restaurants and attractions. In Old San Juan, visitors can explore narrow streets where they’re reach old theatres and museums, lush parks. The city is home to 16th-century Spanish colonial architecture such as El Morro, El Catedral de San Juan Bautista and La Fortaleza.

The Caribbean island suffered extensive damage during a series of hurricanes and storms last year, including Hurricane Irma. Businesses, homes, hotels, and public buildings were destroyed or damaged, and have been under repair over the last few months. The island is once again open for business and tourism officials are keen to let tourists know that it is ready for business once again.
