Renowned for its excellent accommodations and vibrant casino, Florida's Seminole Hard Rock complex will now be home to one of the world's most innovative pieces of architecture. The brand new building, set to house over 600 rooms and suites, will be shaped like an authentic guitar. The ambitious project is expected to be complete by 2020.

Guitar-shaped hotel to preside over Florida Hard Rock complex

Florida’s Seminole Hard Rock complex will be welcoming an amazing new building that is set to strike the right chords amongst rock aficionados. The venue’s authorities recently announced that they would soon be welcoming one of the most unique and beautiful pieces of architecture to its facilities: a colossal 450-foot-tall building shaped like the body of a guitar. In tune with the brand’s logo and international fame, the new construction is expected to be completed by 2020.

With a cost of 1.5 billion dollars, the project recently kicked off in the spirit of Hard Rock, with a “guitar smashing” ceremony. The gigantic guitar-shaped construction will house 638 hotel rooms and suites—doubling the Seminole Hard Rock’s total number of rooms—in addition to a 41,000-square-foot spa, and several restaurants. According to James Allen, Chairman of Hard Rock International this ground-breaking construction will proudly represent the brand:

“It’s not just an exterior façade. The curving of the building will be identical to an authentic guitar.”

Florida’s Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino will also undergo other transformations that will beauty and add further facilities to the complex during the construction period. The existing performance venue will be replaced by a new theatre seating over 7,000 people and new buildings will also be surrounded by a 10-acre campus of waterfalls, plunge pools, eateries, and ponds accommodating canoes and paddle boats.

Located near Hollywood, Florida, the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino is a lavish resort boasting a 12-story Mediterranean-style tower with 481 guest rooms and 86 suites with panoramic views, a casino, a 4-acre lagoon-style pool area, fifteen restaurants, sixteen shops, the poker room, a spa, comedy club, over ten bars and nightclubs, and "Hard Rock Live", a concert venue.

The history of the brand and how it has grown into world-renowned group is quite peculiar. Isaac Tigrett and Peter Morton, two Americans living in London launched the first Hard Rock Cafe in 1971, with the idea of serving Brits with tasty and authentic American burgers. For its inauguration, celebrity artist Alan Aldridge, best known for his work with the Beatles, designed the now famous logo. The first idea of live music came when Paul McCartney & Wings performed an impromptu concert within the venue as a warm-up gig for their 1973 tour. Today Hard Rocks around the world host more than 15,000 live music events.
