Video allows viewers to watch transformation of aircraft by Virgin Atlantic

Virgin Airline is leasing four aircrafts from bankrupt carrier Air Berlin and recently released a time-lapse video detailing the transformation of these aircrafts. The ‘new’ planes will feature a Business Class ‘Love Suite’ in addition to numerous other amenities. EasyJet, Lufthansa and Malaysia Airline will also lease aircrafts from Air Berlin.

Virgin Atlantic recently announced the debut of four "new" aircrafts, including a Business Class "love suite." These aircrafts are a bit different, however. Leased from the defunct Air Berlin, the aircrafts have been retrofitted by Virgin Atlantic.

The Airbus 330s had long careers in the air with the German airline that ceased operations last year. Now, however, they belong to the UK-based long-haul carrier.

Virgin Atlantic is currently refitting the aircraft to be introduced into service in March, covering routes from Manchester to New York, Boston, San Francisco and Barbados. The carrier even released a time-lapse video showing the transformation of the A330s from their old Air Belin livery to their new attire.

Making use of the existing Air Berlin layout in business class, Virgin Atlantic has rebranded the first two seats, positioned together at the front of the cabin, as the Love Suite:

"Ideal for dual dining, watching movies together or even catching up on work."

Also on offer is the Solo Freedom Suite, for seats next to the aisle, and a Solo Corner Suite, at the back and side of the cabin and sheltered from view.

Farther back, the 287-seater aircraft will have five rows of premium economy before the general economy seats begin.

The airline said:

"The Unique Upper Class cabin introduces three new seat styles for Virgin Atlantic customers to choose from…Customers will also be able to select from a special barista-style coffee menu; receive free messaging, and an improved amenity kit featuring 'Happy Socks'".

Telegraph Travel recently reported that the defunct Air Berlin is auctioning off its entire inventory to raise money. Virgin is leasing the aircraft, which will be named Scarlett O’Hara, Honky Tonk Woman, Daydream Believer and Strawberry Fields. Virgin is leasing the aircraft because of Rolls Royce engine issues of some of its Boeing 787 aircraft.

Other airlines are taking advantage of Air Berlin’s going out of business by leasing their aircraft. EasyJet, Lufthansa, and Malaysia Airline will also make use of some of the bankrupt airline’s fleet of aircrafts.
