Serena Williams, the global tennis star, has recently celebrated her honeymoon in the Caribbean. The athlete headed to the Bahamas with her new husband, Alexis Ohanian, to soak up the sunshine and tropical natural landscapes.

The loved-up pair spent their honeymoon at Kamalame Cay resort which is located off the coast of Andros in the Out Islands of The Bahamas. Sitting on a 96-acre island, the luxury hotel has 27 ocean-facing guest rooms and suites in cottages, bungalows and Bali-style beach houses, as well as ten upscale villas. Williams and Ohanian stayed at the 3,600-square-foot Magnolia Villa, which starts from $2,955 a night.

Serena posted a short video of their luxury villa on Instagram. She wrote “A week in paradise”, and then thanked online travel agency for “helping us find the perfect honeymoon villa.” The video was made by Serena’s new husband, who posted photos of himself with his DJI Phantom drone at Kamalame Cay.

Named after the trees that grow on the island, Kamalame Cay is a luxurious private-island retreat. These include Pineapple House with it Front Desk cottage, boutique with beachwear, and internet lounge, the Great House Dining Room & Lounge with gourmet dining; and the Seaside Tiki bar with cocktails, wines and juices. Onsite, there’s also a freshwater swimming pool, a PADI-certified dive shop, tennis courts, a flower jungle, and the only overwater spa in the Bahamas with pampering treatments and 100% organic Naturapathica products.

Holidaymakers can enjoy a range of activities on the island. These include relaxing on three miles of beach, snorkelling, scuba diving fishing, boat excursions, or trips to the nearby Andros island which has one of the Caribbean’s largest protected nature reserves.
