Alila Jabal Akhdar in Oman receives Fifth Star classification from Ministry of Tourism

The Ministry of Tourism in Oman has awarded the Alila Jabal Akhdar resort a Fifth Star in its new boutique hotel classification. It is one of the first hotels in the country to be awarded the coveted rating by the Ministry.

Located on the beautiful Al Hajar mountain range in Oman, the Alila Jabal Akhdar is the only eco-luxury hotel in the area, and its name means “The Green Mountain” in Arabic. Sitting 2,000 metres above sea level, the boutique resort has 86 upscale guest rooms, including six loft suites and two villas.

Julian Ayers, the General Manager of the hotel, stated:

“It is a great honour to be commemorated for our bespoke services. Our team, along with our owner OMRAN, have worked passionately in delivering memorable destination experiences that are surprisingly different.”

And added:

“Alila Jabal Akhdar enjoys great repute with its stunning location and outstanding facilities. New activities have been added to the Alila Experience, which includes the Via Ferrata, a new Spa Arbour, Play Alila & the Butterfly trail, making the resort a truly unique destination that one can visit again and again.”

Alila Jabal Akhdar overlooks a magnificent gorge, and is surrounded by the majestic peaks of the Al Hajar Mountains. The property is a hot spot for nature-loving travellers, adventure enthusiasts and tourists seeking cooler temperatures away from the desert heat.

The hotel’s design features traditional craftsmanship that has been inspired by Omani culture, and the property was constructed using locally sourced materials. Between March and May every year, the rose harvest takes place, and the landscapes of the resort are transformed into a sea of pink, as 7,000 Damask roses come into bloom. The flowers are also used for local perfume production.

Guests can enjoy a variety of leisure facilities, such as a swimming pool, modern fitness centre and a cliffside restaurant with gourmet cuisine using local produce. The onsite Spa Alila is the perfect place to relax, with seven treatment rooms, Jacuzzis, a Vichy shower room, and a collection of Asian-inspired treatments and therapies.

Alila Jabal Akhdar is owned by Alila Hotels & Resorts, a Singapore-based hotel group. The company operates luxury boutique properties in destinations across India, China, the United States, Indonesia, Oman, the Asia Pacific region, and it is expanding its collection throughout China, Malaysia, Cambodia and Europe.
