Alila Jabal Akhdar hotel launches Rose Experience to celebrate rose harvest in Oman

Nature lovers can enjoy the spectacular sights of the rose harvest in Oman this spring, at the Alila Jabal Akhdar hotel. To celebrate the harvest, the hotel has launched a new Rose Experience for guests.

The annual harvest takes place from the end of March to mid-May, and the landscapes of the Jabal Akhdar (Green Mountains) are transformed into a sea of pink, as 7,000 Damask roses come into bloom. The Alila Jabal Akhdar hotel sits in a prime position, 2,500 metres above sea level and overlooking the beautiful Al Hajar mountain range and the carpet of pink roses.

A two-night Rose Experience is available for guests throughout the rose season, and guests can enjoy rose-themed activities. These include a guided tour through the magnificent floral Jabal Akhdar rose terraces, a relaxing rose petal bath with chilled sparkling rose wine, and a special rose treatment at Spa Alila, which includes a naturally infused rose petal oil that has medicinal properties.

The Alila Jabal Akhdar hotel is a luxury hotel with a total of 86 guest rooms, including six loft suites. The property also boasts two Jabal Villas with two bedrooms, a private swimming pool, a Jacuzzi and a steam room.

The design of the luxury resort features traditional craftsmanship that has been inspired by Omani culture, and was built using locally sourced materials. Dotted around the resort’s rooms there are vintage trunks, and in the hotel lobby, abstract rose pattern decorate the walls in theme with the local perfume production and annual bloom.

Alila Jabal Akhdar’s upscale facilities include a cliff-side restaurant serving gourmet local and international cuisine, a swimming pool, and a modern fitness centre. Spa Alila has seven treatment rooms, Jacuzzis, a Vichy shower room, and a collection of Asian-inspired treatments and therapies. The spa’s aroma is a blend of oils grounded in frankincense and juniper berry, and when guests arrive, they are presented with rosewater and an elderflower spritzer.

Located two hours from the capital city of Muscat, the secluded retreat is perfect for those who are looking to escape the bustling city and enjoy the natural views that overlook the gorge and majestic mountains. The hotel offers a range of activities and experiences, including the brand new Via Ferrata protected climbing route experiences.

Alila Jabal Akhdar is owned by Alila Hotels & Resorts, a company that has boutique properties in destinations across the Asia Pacific region. The Singapore-based hotel group is expanding its collection throughout China, Malaysia, India, Indonesia and Europe.
