Macau now home to the largest St Regis hotel in the world

The St Regis hotel had opened the doors to its largest hotel in the world - the St Regis Macao. The luxury resort is the final piece of the Sands Cotai Central integrated report complex. Thanks to a host of family friendly activities as well a luxury shopping and fine dining experience, the complex offers a family friendly Macau holiday experience.

Macau now home to the largest St Regis hotel in the world

Renowned luxury hotel brand The St Regis recently opened the doors to its largest hotel to date on Macao's Cotai Strip.

The 38-story, 400 room St. Regis Macao, Cotai Central is the brand's seventh hotel to be launched in Greater China and though it is located in the world's top gambling destination, the St Regis Macao is seeking to capture a wider audience.

The St Regis Macao is now the final piece of the Sands Cotai Central integrated resort complex, which is also home to a Conrad, Sheraton and Holiday Inn flags hotel. The hotel complex has something for everyone in the family featuring a Batman- themed flight simulator, a Ferris wheel, restaurants, bars and luxury shops.

For those who loved to be pampered on their holidays, the St Regis Macao features a 24-hour personal butler service available to all guests - the first service of its kind to be offered in Macau.

With Macau's gambling industry currently feeling the pressure of a crackdown on corruption and China's current economic woes, the hotel complex's key selling points reflect the growing need for Macau to expand its tourism product beyond the gambling industry. Macau's gaming revenue in 2015 was down 34.3 per cent from 2014 falling to a five year low of $28.93 billion.

Some suspect that the decline is causing major hoteliers to have second thoughts and it has also been the reported cause for the delay of the eagerly anticipated Wynn Palace Cotai hotel.

Despite the current uncertainties Mr Sheldo G. Adelson, the chairman and CEO of Las Vegas Sands Corp. and Sands China Ltd remains unshaken in his optimism. At the grand opening of the St Regis Macao, Adelson stated:

"The opening of The St. Regis Macao is another significant step in Macao being able to differentiate itself from other destinations and further enhances Macao's ability to draw even more leisure tourists and business travellers from throughout the region and across the globe. As we have from the outset, we will continue to invest in Macao's tourism future..."
